Zopistas, The first development version of the Refresh product is available. It lets you make changes to the Python code in your products without restarting Zope. Standard disclaimer applies; do not use in production environments. Folders and the /

Hi! Recently I was trying to mirror a Zope page to a local machine using pavuk or wget. The problem I encountered was that not everything was copied. I've tried to track down the problem and the basic issue is that folders when being referenced as e.g. http://machine.com/folderA/folderB will be downloaded as files. Thus when accessing a file inside the folderB it will result in an error as there is not folder folderB in the actual tree. To solve this problem Zope needs to make a redirect to http://machine.com/folderA/folderB/ (with a / prepended) so that the mirror tool knows that it's an folder. This is as I think the way Apache does it. The mirror tool will then also create a local directory and download the data as index.html (wget) or _._.html (pavuk). I haven't looked at the code yet but cannot imagine that it's too hard to implement. (What method is invoked on the folder when being accessed? index_html() ? Must this be changed?) cheers, Christian

Zope 2.2alpha1 Catalog/CatalogAware problem

OK, I thought I'd give the new alpha a try with an old site, to check the upgrade procedure. I have a problem. executing scheduled commands in separate thread

hi, a while ago I saw the proposal to schedule events via cron and lynx or wget (or maybe zclient). however I would prefer a self contained solution. isn't there a way just to add a new thread to Zserver checking for scheduled tasks? is there documentation for the zope architecture in general? (like which thrad does what, main threads etc.) thanks -oliver

In many ways it behaves similarly to the original XMLDocument, except it only creates a single Zope object upon import or creation. ooo. question: It adds a "Refresh" tab to every Product Folder and enables the refresh function only for products that are compatible with this function. how do you make a product compatible? Once you've been prompted, you're meant to keep sending the auth info. I'd dig out the RFC reference, but I can't be bothered right now :) manage_workspace is a magic method that redirects you to the default page _for your role_. If w3m doesn't send the auth info, then it will send the default page for the unauthenticated user. You can also see this in netscape &c when bringing up the two pane view - if the left hand menu frame is slower to load, the right hand one will load first and will render the unauthenticated user's view of the top level page.
