There ARE other people reporting something about "len of unsized object" errors with their SQL methods after upgrading that I'm trying to get to the bottom of. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce that locally. I would really appreciate if some folks would: o !!backup your original Data.fs!! before trying out 2.2 beta 2 o If you have any problems with the SQLMethods, if you can send me your zipped object db (and info on what products need to be installed to reproduce your environment) that would help a lot. (send a copy of the back up Data.fs) It would be great if someone can send me one where the SQL stuff is based on Gadfly or MySQL connections if possible... Hi, I need some icons/pics for my Zope project. Are there any common icons for Zope I could use, and if not, shouldn`t there be such a thing? Does anybody know of any other collection of free icon-collections available ? Thomas

Searching a relational database

Hi, How can I search a relational database thru Zope? ( I`m using PostgreSQL 7.0.2 on Linux ). I have a DVD/VHS-organizing project that would be pretty useless if people couldn`t search for movies by entering just parts of the title. Ex. typing alien should show "Alien" and "Alien 3". Can ZCatalog be used for this? If I have a SQL-statement that returns all rows in a database, can ZCatalog index this? What I`m looking for is similar to full-text searching on MS SQL 7.0 etc. Tips, hints or pointers?? Thomas

calling external method from external method

Group, How do I call one external method from another external method? Here is what I mean: The user has entered the id of valid external method in a form field. (This is during setup of a Product and is not accessible anonymously) At a later point, an external method is running (part of the product) that gets the id that was entered above. The new SiteAccess and __no_before_traverse__?

Hi! I am playing around with SiteAccess and Zope 2.2b1 right now and I wonder if it's still possible to disable SiteAccess (actually an AccessRule) by using __no_before_traverse__? It seems not to and I am a bit trapped right now.. ;-) Even deleting SiteAccess from the Products-Directory didn't work as then Zope encountered a missing doc string error for the directory when trying to access it. ZPatterns alpha 4 released (was Re: ZPatterns bug. Very serious.)

ZPatterns 0.4.0 alpha 4 has been released, fixing the bugs described below. I will be away from e-mail most of this coming week. If when I get back there isn't a pile of new bug reports, I'll upgrade ZPatterns to beta status. On Friday, Ty completed a project using LDAP and ZPatterns' "generic attribute providers" and "generic triggers" to perform an actual useful function for our department, and it should be in production use this coming week. And second, Rack.retrieveItem() fails to wrap the returned object to the specialist. (Instead of returning item on the last line of the function, it should return item.__of__(self.aq_inner.aq_parent)). These problems affected only objects whose primary storage was in the ZODB (a mode of storage Ty and I aren't currently using much, as our projects are focused on LDAP at the moment). Once these changes are made, one can safely remove all the places where you were taking session.__of__(self), since the Rack provides an equivalent effect. I was not able to import your .zexp file, so I did the best I could to simulate your test conditions. I got somewhat different errors, but like yours they occurred only when adding new items and went away once Zope had been reset. With the changes, everything seems to work fine. >P.S. The purpose, IMHO, of a shopping cart, is the same as in a store... to gather the items you intend to purchase at one time in a single place, in a convenient way, allowing you to browse through the store rather than having to make a list and then request all the things at once from the "clerk". If you have only the "clerk", then you lose your ability to browse the store, and commit your purchase as a single transaction. Or if you make it possible to do those things, all you've done is re-invented the cart under a different name.
