What does it take to make an object publishable from an ExternalMethod? I.E., I have a class (see bottom of message) that does some url traversal trickery, that works from a python product. Shouldn't I be able to just stick it in an External method, and just return it, i.e.: def returnme(self): return MyClass() and it get's published as normal? The problem is, __bobo_traverse__ never gets called on MyClass when it's in the external method. It works fine from a python product though. -Brett

reading the entire DB

A wierd one. When I tried to restart my Zope earlier, I got the following: 2001-04-26T18:25:03 ERROR(200) Zope Couldn't import Products.WebFactory Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/ZopeCVS/lib/python/OFS/Application.py, line 528, in import_products (Object: string) File /mnt/zope/WebFactory/Products/WebFactory/__init__.py, line 11, in ? ValueError: bad marshal data line 11 was this: import PropertiesTool, MembershipTool, ActionsTool The only thing I could think of trying was deleting all the .pyc files, but it made no difference. I thought, so it's barfing on one of those modules, I'll put them on separate lines to find out. And when I did that, it worked. It also works with my old cvs version which didn't work earlier. Couldn't find anything anywhere on the web about that exception, and I thought it was freaky enough to post to the list. Anyone seen it before? seb

REQUEST contains wrong list.index ???

Good morning, I came accross something I do not understand: In a form I have list. The list items are set with an option value <> the sequence-index like so: <dtml-in getSubprojects> <dtml-let curElem=sequence-item> <OPTION value=<dtml-var "curElem['Code']">> <dtml-var "curElem['Name']"> </OPTION> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> Now my question: In the forms action I ask for the selected item in a python script like so: listVal = 0 try: listVal = _['listProject'] except: pass To my puzlement listVal contains the index of the selected item, not it's <option value> which I would like to gather. how can I fill to frames in on dtml-call ??

Hi there, I would like to fill two frames as a response to a user action. How can I do that? The situation is as follows: I have two database tables having a master-detail relationship. In a list I display records from the master table . When the user clicks on one of the entry I would like to fill a frame with some fileds of the record, an in a second frame a list with detailrecords. So how can I fill two frames as a response to a submit. Or is there a way that I can tell a python or dtml-method to send its output to a given target? I tried something like this: <dtml-var masterForm> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Window-target',URL1+'/top_right_frm')"> <dtml-var listdetails> but this writes everything into the same frame. thanks for your time Robert

Memory leak (2)

Just occured to me if Im leaking REQUEST it would be nice to see exactly which requests im leaking. But is that really covered by the -M logger, if a request fails to be closed in there does that really translate to a leaked request? I had a look in the code and it wasn't obvious to me.... question: which user was the last to modify an object?

Hi all, The undo form shows interesting info about transactions, for example their modification times. It's easy to know the last time an object was modified with bobobase_modification_time. But, is there an easy way to get the name of the user that made the last modification of an object? thanks, jdavid
