Zope 2.6.0 ZMI Problem for CJK(Collector 623) patch.

Hi ! Zope 2.6.0 have a problem for non 'iso-8859-1' user. And Collector 623 is still incollect now. http://collector.zope.org/Zope/623 It's serious problem for CJK(I'm Japanese). So I make patch for 2.6.0. http://www005.upp.so-net.ne.jp/zope260-i18n-20021123.diff 1.Install $ cd $(INST_HOME) $ patch -p0 <zope260-i18n-20021123.diff 2.Usage Set attribute 'default_charset'(string type) as 'foo' some Folder object. And after you can set 'foo' charset in the Folder object via ZMI. 3.Attension Python need to recognize 'foo' encoding. (You need install adaptable Codec) I try with 'euc-jp' charset, and I think any charset is available. (But my browser can request only Japanese encoding charset.) thanks

post-publishing hook

Dear all, I need a sort of post-publishing hook (so to say). I need Zope to call a function of mine as the very last action of publishing a request, i.e. after having built the response (and sent it to the browser possibly), but before starting publishing a new request. My Zope server is running as a single-threaded app. Does Zope support this any way? Thanks for helping, cheers, Carlo.

allowable object ids

Turns out you can create objects with an id of . or .. although you can't access them. (which is to say I couldn't figure out how, though I didn't try ZServer standalone and I suppose apache might be doing something to the URI) You can't create objects with ids containing + or % or a host of other characters though (and btw the error message you get when you try is horrid, those characters are not illegal in URLs, illegal in the zope object model perhaps, but not URLs). Non Bloating Page Counter

Hello, We've had requests from several of our users for the ability to have a drop in page counter within zope. However creating a page counter python script which increments some value in zope will bloat the ZODB. Solutions exist where values are stored on the file system or in a database. Unfortunately our users don't have file system access and it is unacceptable to expect them to request a database account and setup database connections and methods just to create a page counter. I would like to create a Page Counter product that doesn't bloat. If a product is created that doesn't subclass History or UndoSupport does it still bloat? Zope is transactional, but products like ZLDAPConnection have the ability to be "non-transactional" what does this mean? Could I use this in my counter? -Brian

Bugfix release?

The DateTime bug in 2.6.0 breaks all of my sites. This must be true for very many other people. If we collectively want use of Zope to multiply 10x, I don't think it's a great idea to let a major bug like that stay in the latest-and-greatest release. KeywordIndex errors

Hi, started seeing quite a few of these showing up in one of our server's logs: ------ 2002-11-27T16:16:26 ERROR(200) KeywordIndex unindex_object could not remove documentId -869933785 from index companies. This should not happen. exceptions.KeyError: -869933785 This is Zope 2.6.0, hence the total lack of traceback :-( Anyone got any idea what's going on here? cheers, Chris

ZEO: Abundant POSKeyErrors after packing

Our setup is: Zope 2.6, Python 2.1.3, ZEO from CVS (http://cvs.zope.org/ZEO/?only_with_tag=ZODB3-3_1-branch) This morning we encountered a baffling phenomenon. A cron job routinely packs Data.fs by calling the appropriate URL via wget. 52 minutes after packing was completed we noticed a rapid succession of POSKeyError messages in our logs. Attached are 2 typical ones. Note that every traceback from ZODB.FileStorage.modifiedInVersion was directly follow by a (corresponding?) traceback in ZEO.zrpc.connection.call. Also every POSKeyError was transient. Enough patience in reloading the requested page always resulted in a complete rendering. Stopping Zope and ZEO processes and restarting them "solved" the problem completely. Any guesses?
