On Windows the error msg is a bit different: select.error: (10038, 'An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket') Looks like these come out of two related tests: testNOK (ZEO.tests.testAuth.PlainTextAuth) testNOK (ZEO.tests.testAuth.DigestAuth) Curiously, the same tests pass on Zope 2.8 trunk under 2.4, and in Zope3 under 2.4. Unfortunately, I have no idea what those tests do. Possibly relevant is that 2.4's asyncore is less tolerant of leaving garbage in its socket_map (like closed sockets). One other thing to note: a lot of deprecation warnings about importing whrandom. That module has been officially deprecated for years (although the warning is new in 2.4) -- it's high time to stop importing it.

how can I call a Page Template from a product?

Hi, I developed a simple product to display a stock quote in a portlet. The product is based on some python scripts (stored in a product directory under Plone products). I have written in zope a page template (portlet-style) to display the results: everything ok. Now I have created a 'skin' directory under the product dir, and copied a .pt file with the ZPT source for the portlet. I have added the registerDirectory call in the __init__.py under the product directory. The product appears loaded in Zope, but I am not able to call the page template under the skin directory. We can talk about this issue when Python 2.4 comes near to a final release but I don't see the major benefits of Python 2.4 over 2.3.4 except some improvements in speed. Andreas

Product doesn't work in zope 2.7 that was working in 2.6

Can anybody please help me, Our product Named GNOWSYS is working perfectly in zope 2.6 but when ported to zope 2.7 it does'nt get instantiated.
