Zope Package Scripts

Hi, i've just compiled the windows version of Zope 2.7.2 for release. Since the 2.7.1 release I'm a bit annoyed that the resulting final packages get a -0 as a minor release number, which looks awful IMHO. Could someone make the sdist scripts not do this? UnpickleableError using SESSION in 2.7.2RC1

Can sessions store instance objects created by an external method? I'm running Python 2.3.4 (also happens with 2.3.2) I also get this error with Zope 2.7.0 I'm trying to save a simple instance in a session. The instance is created in an external method. Where are all the good docs?

I've recently persuaded my company and our clients that Zope is THE way to go for Portal software. Now I find myself having to hack away at sources more and more to meed their needs. With that in mind, how can I find out something like what functions can be called from the context object? I've noticed context.absolute_url() and a few others but I find myself sorely lacking the ability to look up member methods for Zope objects. any limits on object number?

We are builiding a large portal using Zope. We need to create a large number of objects. The data component of the objects is small, but each object carries lots of metadata. My question is: Is there any limit on the number of objects in a given folder? I am not planning to use any external RDBMS. Are there any known performace isssues when the numbeer of objects increase, particularly when we store them in the same folder? thanks in advance. Nagarjuna

APE and .svn folders, broke ZMI

Hi, I've run into a problem with Ape and I cannot determine if it's caused by a change in Python version, Zope version or Ape version. I have this problem with Ape 0.71, 0.8, and 0.81 And, Zope 2.7.1 and 2.7.2RC1 and Python 2.3.4 Basically, I use subversion to control my file-system files, so each folder that Ape uses also has a .svn subfolder. Sometime, probably when upgrading from Zope 2.7.0 to 2.7.1, the folders (which I think used to show up as .svn) are now showing up w/o a name. So, clicking on the folder (which corresponds to the modification time of the .svn folder), would send me to this URL http://server3.strader-ferris.com:7180/Strader/P/FS/Customer//manage_worksp… (note the double slash at the end) I don't need to access .svn folders. But, now I cannot use ZMI to create objects in any Ape hosted folder. I get an error. Apache Mod_rewrite question

Hi, I came across a strange behavior of mod_rewrite while using with zope. Although it is not a zope question, I was wondering if any of you have run into this. We are using mod_rewrite to redirect the users to one of the zope sites of a Zeo cluster. The directive RewriteMap has unexpected behavior when it is used to define more than one map with same map name in diffrent places. Normally all the directives within a tag applies only to that tag. For example: <VirtualHost *> ServerName www.foo.com DocumentRoot /var/www/foo RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /var/log/httpd/foo.log RewriteLogLevel 2 RewriteMap map rnd:/etc/httpd/conf/foomap.txt RewriteRule ^/Foo(.*) http://127.0.0.1${map:IP}/VirtualHostBase/http/foo/$1 [L,P] </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *> ServerName www.bar.com DocumentRoot /var/www/bar RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /var/log/httpd/bar.log RewriteLogLevel 2 RewriteMap map rnd:/etc/httpd/conf/barmap.txt RewriteRule ^/Bar(.*) http://127.0.0.1${map:IP}/VirtualHostBase/http/bar/$1 [L,P] </VirtualHost> The above is expected to work. However ModRewrite, does not read the map file foomap.txt or barmap.txt everytime it needs it and it caches the results after the first time it reads for faster operation. The problem is the cache treats both the file as the same since they have the same name! Hence if you visit foo.com first, the data stored in foomap.txt is returned from the cache next time you visit foo.com or bar.com. This causes apache to redirect into the wrong zope site. manage_afterAdd +webdav + two times called

Hi all, zope2.7.2-RC1 cmf 1.4.4 i tried and tested a bit around with webdav and noticed that manage_afterAdd is called two times in putting a file into Plone . Yea i know this is not the list for Plone but i think this is more a problem from zope, webdav and cmf. First manage manage_afterAdd will be called after creating the Object and second it is called after writing the object into zodb. Is this intended that manage_afterAdd is called two times??
