PluggableAuthService and PrincipalDeleted

Hi, the IPrincipalDeleted event is never notified. As a matter of fact, this would be useful to be able to trigger some cleanup in various plugins, when user data has to be cleaned up. (FYI the PrincipalCreated event has a nice high level API _doAddUser that triggers IPrincipalCreated but no high level API for deletion) PAS also provides an IUserAdderPlugin interface for plugins that adds users. For deletion, I would like to do some changes into PAS: - add a IUserRemoverPlugin interface that adds a removeUser *or* rename IUserAdderPlugin to IUserManagerPlugin, but the latter would involve a lot of trouble i think - make ZODBUserManager implements it - add a notify(PrincipalDeleted(user_id)) in ZODBUserManager This would be helpfull to catch the event in various plugins My final goal is to make sure user properties are cleaned up in PlonePAS when a user is removed. Some motivation: File ".../zope/interface/adapter.py", line 482, in queryMultiAdapter result = factory(*objects) TypeError: __init__() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given) Perhaps the need for introspection tools would not be so immediate if the exceptions were more informative; for instance, in the example above, why not print the repr of the factory having problems. Or better, use the ``inspect`` module to show what the factory expects in terms of parameters and list the ``*objects`` passed to it. \malthe

I have completed a first draft of an implementation of a proposal for for changes to the SessionCredentials Access code (zope.app.authentication). http://wiki.zope.org/zope3/SessionCredentialsAPIEnhancements I want to put them somewhere so that they can be discussed. I think that a svn.zope.org/Sandbox is the appropriate place. Can I get committer access to the subversion repository to make changes to this area? [According to the faq, I ask for commiter access on this list]. Alternatively, is there another location where proposed changes to the core are generally posted. Heads up: Dependencies!

Hi all I try to do a cleaup all zope packages and found some wired dependencies and bad setup. One of this bad things is the following: The zope.dublincore package defines in setup.py install_requires = ['setuptools', 'zope.annotation', 'zope.component', 'zope.interface', # testing dependencies 'zope.testing', 'zope.security', 'zope.app.testing', ], I guess this is one of the packages which makes it impossible to get rid of testing stuff on production servers! right or not? This happens in 3.4.0, 3.4.0a1 was Ok. Can anybody agree that the testing dependencies should go to extra_requires ['test'] ? Regards Roger Ineichen _____________________________ END OF MESSAGE

A permanent log for buildouts

Has anyone already setup a more permanent log for buildouts. I am wanting a more permanent record of what has happened when buildout is run. I believe this likely ought to be part of zc.buildout so that you identify a buildout.log location. Many thanks. Regards, David

coding style: using zapi recommended?

Hi! Products.Five.browser.adding is basically a copy of zope.app.container.browser.adding. Over time they became more out of sync than necessary. I'd like to fix that, but have one question: In the Five version from zope.app import zapi factory = zapi.getUtility(IFactory, type_name) was replaced by import zope.component factory = zope.component.getUtility(IFactory, type_name) (http://svn.zope.org/Products.Five/trunk/browser/adding.py?rev=67820&r1=6772…) Was this a code modernization that should be ported to zope.app.container? Or should I revert the change in Products.Five? Keeping two different versions makes it unnecessarily hard to read the diffs. Personally, I prefer yet an other version: from zope.component import getUtility factory = getUtility(IFactory, type_name) But I don't want to change both files if there is no recommended version. Maybe we don't need a strict policy for this, but some guidance would be nice to have. Any opinions? Any guidelines I missed? Cheers, Yuppie
