BdbQuit and the testrunner

I often find that I debug problems by inserting a pdb.set_trace() in code, and then quitting the debugger with "q" once I've gathered information I need to make code changes. This causes a BdbQuit exception to be raised and propagated to the test runner. The resulting traceback isn't actually useful. I'd like to change the test runner to capture BdbQuit and print a message to stdout before exiting instead of dumping the traceback. Any reason this would be a bad idea? -Fred -- Fred L. Zope2 porting failure in Products

Hi all, During the porting of Zope2 I have now stuck with a failure in the module Products. in the file.. /home/user-name/ztrunk25/lib/python/Products/Five/browser/tests/aqlegacy.py in line no: 96 assert self.aq_base == self the comparison results True in python2.4 but the same comparison yeilds the result False in python2.5 A similar problem was there in the module Acquisition which we could manage to get fixed by making change in the file_Acquisition.c I hope the code for this assert (used in line "assert self.aq_base == self" ) is defined for zope and can be fixed with not so much effort. Can any one suggest where why these different versions are showing two results. Or the file or code segment that does this assertion .

Syntax error in python2.6

Hi everybody, During the porting of Zope2 to Python2.6, I am stuck with a syntax error in the module AccessControl, which is given below. def reorder(s, with=None, without=()): ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax in line 56 of /home/zope/ztrunk26/lib/python/RestrictedPython/Utilities.py. The same code when run in python2.4 and python2.5 didn't give any syntax errors. Can anybody suggest the reason for this syntax error in python2.6.

Hi all, I asked about the import error in python2.6 while trying to port zope2. The error message is given below. File "/home/zope/ztrunk26/lib/python/AccessControl/ImplC.py", line 30, in <module> from ImplPython import RestrictedDTML, SecurityManager, ZopeSecurityPolicy ImportError: No module named ImplPython It works well in python2.4 and 2.5. could zope.sqlalchemy flush before committing?

I complained recently about problems with things disappearing from an in-memory sqlite database. It appears that my problems were actually symptoms of something else: that, so far as I can see, doing a transaction.commit() when SQLAlchemy is active does *not* first do a session().commit()! This means that the following sequence in a test suite: >>> p = Person(name='Brandon') >>> s = session() >>> s.add(p) >>> transaction.commit() >>> s.attribute = 'an illegal value' Traceback: ...
