FastCGI question

I haven't used Zope to any significant degree in over a year. When I was last using Zope regularly, FastCGI still had some stability issues, which made it difficult to use in a production environment. However, I have always felt that FastCGI was the better solution when choosing between proxy, pcgi and fastcgi, from a theoretical standpoint. LoginManager

Core Session Tracking Problem?

I've been noticing these sorts of messages in a number of our server logs: 2001-03-26T12:56:19 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\002\030\316' Traceback (innermost last): File /mnt/data/2/zope/2-2-4_base/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py, line 443, in setstate AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load' I think I posted about it a while back, but I've started to notice that these only occur in applications where wer'e using the Core Session Tracking product. Given the low OID numbers, it does sound like it's something in the funky RAM based session that's not being found, but I may be talking rubbish ;-) Anyway, it occurs on Zope 2.2.4, 2.2.5, and 2.3.xbx. Do core session tracking bugs go in the collector or somewhere else? cheers, Chris

Hi all, I have a little Problem on using Images in my Product. If i'am logged in as Manager i can View the Image, but if logged in as Anonymous i can't view the Image. The View permission is assigned to Anonymous Role and the Image Foo is assing to the View Permission, but i can't view the Image as Anonymous. Source: __ac_permissions=( ... Determining Acquired Permissions?

RoleManager doesn't seem to offer any way to determine what permissions are acquired for roles. If I'm wrong, please quietly direct me to the appropriate API call :) If I'm not, I need to know how to determine this information. We're using a simplified interface to access controls in our management screens, and we need to be able to display exactly what the permissions are at a given point in the object tree. I honestly believe that RoleManager should do the same thing, but that's possibly the subject of another email :) I'm about to use a custom method which walks aq_chain (yay for aq_chain :) looking for _View_Permission ('View' being the permission I'm interested in). What are the chances this will break in the future - the attribute has a leading underscore and therefore is private as far as I'm concerned. Naughty Richard, but he can't find another way... I had that problem a while back but forgot to report it to Mr. Transparent Folders (sorry...) Anyway, this patch to TransparentFoldersPatch.py should fix you right up: def _getattr(self, name): # This is the new ObjectManager.__getattr__(). ParsedXML 1.0 released

We've just released ParsedXML 1.0, the first stable release. It can be downloaded from zope.org at <http://www.zope.org/Members/karl/ParsedXML/ParsedXML>. Parsed XML allows you to use XML objects in the Zope environment. You can create XML documents in Zope and leverage Zope to format, query, and manipulate XML. Parsed XML consists of a DOM storage, a builder that uses PyExpat to parse XML into the DOM, and a management proxy product that provides Zope management features for a DOM tree. -- Karl Anderson karl(a)digicool.com

Transparent Folder bug?

Am I imagining it or do I have a transparent folders bug? It would seem that transparent folders adds an extra namespace to my objects and it searches through sub folders eg: Folder X: Document Foo. In the root with transparent folders i can happily call <dtml-var Foo> when I should not have this in my namespace. Without transparent folders I get a KeyError (which I should). With I get X/Foo rendered even though X is not transparent. My only caveat here is that every test with transparent folders is Zope 2.3, where as without im using 2.1.6. Cheers. -- Andy McKay.
