Yours is the third enquiry I've had about this in the past week !!! You can do this in a very general way using wget which is freely available and very configurable. Another option is to look at ZMirror in http://www.zope.org/Members/rossl/ZMirror - not because it will solve all your problems, but because the code is certainly a useful starting point. Turns out that it's a non-trivial task to do this in completely general way. I now tend to write very specific external methods based on the code in zmirror. good luck. ToDoManager ZPatterns example not working

Hi, I installed the ToDoManager/ToDoProduct example (http://www.zope.org/Members/sspickle/DumbZPatternsExample ) but it won't work. System is RedHat 6.1, Zope 2.2.2, ZPatterns-0-4-2a3. Removing uninstalled Prods from ZODB?

Hola, I would like to know how to remove removed Products from the ZODB. This might sound silly, but I tried out POPMail and the PTK-0.8, then I uninstalled them and removed all the files. After I restarted Zope everything looked fine, no trace of the Products in the Control Panel Products list. However, I still have 'Advanced' tabs from the PTK in some management screens, and the POPMail has left some base classes for ZClasses. As a result of the POPMail garbage, I'm not able to add any new ZClasses to the system because: Error Type: Could not load oid Error Value: None In the debug output I find that something related to POPMail is screwing up my system... Can anybody tell me how to get rid of all this half uninstalled Products (other than exporting all my objects and re-importing them into a clean ZODB)? Perhaps an uninstall API for Products would be a good idea... something like def unititalize(context): context.unregisterClass() in __init__.py, that gets called when a Product is removed from the Product Management screens... cheers, .jonas. -- And what is good, Phaedrus, And what is not--- Need we ask anyone to tell us these things? Acquisition/cDocumentTemplate bug

Recently, several posters have reported strange "AttributeError __call__" exceptions. The most precise was a report by Oleg Broytmann: /index_html DTML Document <dtml-var standard_html_header> /standard_html_header DTML Method <dtml-with sub></dtml-with> /sub Folder When he calls "/sub/index_html", he gets this "AttributeError __call__" for "sub". He observed the problem on Zope 2.1.4 and 2.2a4. I partially analysed this problem report under Zope 2.1.6: In "MM_cget", "sub" is retrieved as an "ImplicitAcquirerWrapper" (correct). In line 373, however, "PyCallable_Check(sub)" returned "1", which is probably wrong, because a folder is not callable. The "ImplicitAcquirerWrapper"'s "tp_call" mislead "PyCallable_Check". In line 376, the attribute "py_isDocTemp" is looked up and succeeds. Therefore, the folder "sub" is seen as a Document Template, which definitely is not true. The following call fails because it arrives at CallMethodO in "Acquisition.c:119" which looks for a non-excisting "__call__" method. Dieter

Is it possible for a simple dtml/ttw only zpatterns example?

Is it too complicated? Seems to me it would help out alot of people and help to further the cause. I'm starting to get the feeling that some people are not willing to share in their success. By keeping it complicated and jargon filled prevents me from be able to use it. Is this suppose to be in the spirit of open source? How is 'retrieveItem intended to work with TTW Specialists?

Hello ZPatterns Folk..... I'm trying to implement 'delagation' with a custom Specialist. The idea, (I think this is one of the goals of ZPatterns... to allow delegation of responsibility after the Framework is built...) I have: a) MarketItemManager (Python subclass of Specialist) Some of methods, both DTML Methods, and plain old Python Methods, are *meant* to be acquire by the objects (DataSkins) he manages. b) ThingManager (ZClass subclass of Specialist). This is really just a test class that is supposed to represent some later developer integrating my ZPattern based EMarket into their application, (e.g., inventory or whatever...) in MarketItemManager I've defined a 'retrieveItem' (this would really be done by the integrator...) that does something like this: <dtml-return "myGreatSite.ThingSpecialist.getItem(key)"> with the hope that when the Specialist class gets traversed it will execute: def __bobo_traverse__(self, REQUEST, name): ob = getattr(self, name, _marker) if ob is _marker: ob = self.getItem(name) <--- traversal invokes getItem.... if ob is not None: return ob raise 'NotFound' return ob def getItem(self, key): """Get an item""" if hasattr(self.aq_base,'retrieveItem'): <--- getItem invokes retrieveItem return self.retrieveItem(key=key) # XXX need DTML check? for rack in self.rackList: item = rack.__of__(self).getItem(key) if item is not None: return item So my retrieve item gets called..... *unfortunately* it gets called without any namespace parameter... so my retrieveItem DTML method has no way to acquire a namespace so that it can delagate to something else! So... here is what I did... I defined a method in my Python subclass of Specialist.. class MarketItemManager(ZPatterns.Specialists.Specialist): """A Market Item Manager""" # Specify a name for the item type: meta_type='MarketItemManager' def retrieveItem(self, key): """ get an item....""" return self.__of__(self).delegateRetrieve(self, None, key=key) Then I made a DTML method called 'delegateRetrieve' like so: <dtml-return "myGreatSite.ThingManager.getItem(key)"> this way, my integrator can edit 'delegateRetrieve' to point to whatever Specialist he wants to... and I have a Python implementation of retrieveItem.
