Product using ZCatalog example?

The simplest thing to do is to run Zope from the command line, passing the '-D' flag to tell it to run in debug mode (the default "start" script does this). The traceback from the failed product import will then dump to the console (I think). XMLDocument - Adding a child through zope

I'm interested in using zope to maintain an xml document. Has anyone been able to add a child to an element node simply using the DOM api? I image that this would be simple using something like the following code. new_node = self.getOwnerDocument().createElement('testTag') self.appendChild(new_node) However, I get the following error when I try it: Error Type: WrongDocumentException Error Value: The following line is at the bottom of the traceback. File C:\Program Files\jin\lib\python\Products\XMLDocument\Node.py, line 434, in appendChild (Object: Manageable) WrongDocumentException: (see above) Here's the crazy thing. Line 434 of Node.py is the following: document=newChild.getOwnerDocument() ownerDocument=self.getOwnerDocument() if document and ownerDocument and document != ownerDocument: raise ZDOM.WrongDocumentException() Clearly from the first snippet of code, you see that the ownerDocument of both the new_node and 'self' node are one and the same. Accessing objects inside a ZClass from and instance

Zopsters, Is there any way to access the objects inside a ZClass from an instance of that class using objectValues()? I'd like to get a list of usable methods that a user can access. Pickling error

Python objects and transactions

Is there an easy way for a python object to know when a web request has completed? For example, if I have an object that needs to do some setup and tidy up around operations, I want to group operations together if possible, but I don't want to delay the tidy up until the object is thrown out of the cache. I have tried using the mixin class Shared.DC.ZRDB.TM and defining _abort, _finish, but without much success. The first time I call _register the _finish method is called as I expected, but the transaction forces a commit, which writes the object to the ZODB with _registered set to 1 so that subsequent attempts to start a transaction fail. Often, when Zope tries to load my product, it logs the simple error message: 2000-02-21T23:51:57 ERROR(200) Zope Couldn't install MyProduct There is no traceback, not in the log and not in the product screen of the Control Panel. Old Products and the new HelpSys

Hi, I have a Zope installation running a recent cvs version. If i add a new Product i get automagically a "Help (ProductName Help)" Object. But in older Products i can't add this and therefore the Views tab (as defined in Zope/lib/python/ZClasses/views.dtml) produces a NameError for "Help". Is there a way to add this Help-Object to older Products? I tried editing initializeProduct in Zope/lib/python/App/Product.py and exporting and importing the Product. I added the following: if not ihasattr(product,'Help'): product._setObject('Help', ProductHelp('Help', '%s Help' % name)) similar to the __init__ method of the Product class, but that doesn't add it. Any Zope Trouble Ticket System ?

Hello, We are working on a trouble ticket system product for Zope, following loosely the RFC-1297. To avoid duplicate efforts, I looked for something equivalent, available or under development. OpenFlow and RoundUp seemed close matches, but they are not the right thing yet. Does anyone have something similar?
