The #in tag and spanning multiple rows in tables

I'm displaying rows of data (stored in a TinyTable) with the #in tag. The first data column is a year, and if two or more rows have the same year I need to show the year once in a ROWSPAN cell. The start-nnn and end-nnn tell me when to do this, but I can't know the number of rows to span. Is there any way to find this out? When I couldn't find any, I patched DocumentTemplate/DT_InSV.py to return a more-nnn variable that returns how many more items have the same nnn value as the current item. So I can do:  <DL ROWSPAN=>  </DL>  But I'm really an absolute beginner in Zope... especially when it comes to the source. Does this look like a good thing to do? Well, I added a real Zope user and it didn't help. I cannot seem to access *any* methods, like index_html for example. Anything that has a valid path gives a 401 Unauthorized error, anything that doesn't have a valid path give me an object not found. I'm not sure if it is pertinent, but I have Zope set up with apache so that root folder has no name - http://some.box.com/ runs the pcgi wrapper script. I noticed in the Zope Debugger doc that the syntax was "contaniner/method", but when I try to call a method in a folder of the root level, (Reports/index_html) it is always "not found". Debugging woes...

On April 19th I posted a problem try to get the ZOracleDA working, and am continuing to troubleshoot - I am running the Zope Debugger via the following script: python /opt/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Test.py -e id="Oracle_database_connection" -e title="Z Oracle Database Connection" -e connection_string="system/manager@openview" -e check="YES" -e AUTHENTICATED_USER=formus -d /opt/Zope/lib/python/Main /manage_addZOracleConnection (I added the carriage returns to make it easier to read). Am I doing something wrong - Internal Error with missing required arg

I have the following simple form: <FORM method="GET" action="http://cm-29-94-14.nycap.rr.com/search"> Performer: <INPUT type="text" name="performers:required" value=""> <INPUT type="submit" value="Search"> </FORM> If I submit the form without filling in the input field I get an error code 500 instead of a "No input for required field" message. This is what ZServer spits out: Server Error: exceptions.ValueError, No input for required field performers<p>: file: /home/killer-whale/skip/src/Zope/lib/python/ZPublisher/Converters.py line: 114 Any suggestions? New way to build objects?

Hi, people complained to me that a product that I've made isn't working in the CVS Zope version. I've checked it and it looks like that the way to create folder objects has changed. There's even a new factory object. Line wrapping problem at zope sites

The text in the right side of the main ZOPE page exhibits the proper line wrapping as one expands and contracts the browser window on the right hand side. [#1] http://www.zope.org Some other pages on zope have a wrap problem, for example [#2]: http://zdp.zope.org/FAQ/all The first paragraph that starts "This FAQ is a project of the Zope Documentation Project, and...." This paragraph continues as one line and continues off the right edge of the window. If one clicks on the link at the bottom, "printable page", [#3] http://zdp.zope.org/FAQ/all?pp=1 all is well and moving the right edge moves properly wraps the text as into a multi line paragraph. This seems to be a problem with how text is formatted when it is part of a "Zope headlines" _table_ with the zope logo and shortcuts on the left as seen in #1 & #2. The source looks ok for this paragraph: (note: parens used instead of bbrackets here) (p) This FAQ is a project of the Zope Documentation Project, and aims to answer any (or at least lost) questions you might have about Zope and how to use it.(/p) So it must be something with the table used. This problem is seen both with IE5 and NS4.5 -Bob

Timezones

I sent this mail to the standard mailing list, when it was probably best sent here (apologies if you receive it twice) As I work in Australia I would like to add support for our timezones to the DateTime/DateTimeZone files. Adding the data to DateTime.py is fine but can anyone describe the format of the data in DateTimeZone.py as it somewhat cryptic to say the least ? TIA Robert Leftwich

ZServer loses leading slash from PATH_INFO...

With ZopeHTTPServer I set SCRIPT_NAME to "" and the leading slash wound up in PATH_INFO. This was, as I recall, what Jim Fulton said it should be. I just discovered that ZServer seems to lose the leading slash from PATH_INFO. I've worked around the problem by setting SCRIPT_NAME to "/". Is this a bug or expected behavior?
