Would you address the "to be uploaded" aspect. Unfortunately, from the Zope POV, not all information formatters are written on Python. I certainly don't want to reinvent wheels. As a result, I need to do automatic dynamic replacement of content. "Including" a file which has been generated by the external program is certainly easier probably more efficient than generating the file, importing a copy into the database, and serving it from there. Mentally, I look at a file system as an implementation of a database which has structured keys and is efficient at supplying large "results" (the file) from the (path) key. Perhaps we should implement file access through such a model.

Want to test if User Equal to a Property

Zopsters, I am attempting to tailor the way information gets viewed based on a person's login. When the user get's to the page described by the following code, I would like the page to look one way if the 'owner' property in the parent folder is equal to the user, and look the other way if they are not equal. The following code makes sense, but does not work.        The _[owner] property is stored as a string. And AUTHERNTICAED_USER.getUserName() returns a string if I'm not mistaken. The look-up for _[owner] without single quotes is because I'm not looking up an object, but a property, right? The document is a DTML Method. Do I have to reference the Parent in the lookup? Zope.org public CVS, preliminary trial

Hi, all. As threatened, i've set up a public CVS repository for the Zope sources, and left instructions for using it at http://www.zope.org/Community/Support/CVS_public_access Consider this a preliminary trial. I'd appreciate if interested folks would give it a try, and let me know if you have problems (or find mistakes in the instructions, etc). Once things are ironed out we'll organize the services pages a bit and hook it all up for general consumption. We've recently arranged the CVS distribution to enable running directly from the checked out sources (ie, following the distribution's doc/INSTALL.txt instructions). This also is only lightly tested, and would be interested in finding out how that works for people. Finally, my next task is to write up instructions for mirroring your own Zope CVS repositories to Zope.org, for public access. Let me know if you have something substantial that you'd like to distribute this way - i'd like to start with just a few folks, to iron it out, before going large scale, but it is on the way (i think:). BTW, thanks to Michel Pelletier here, the word "Session" has now been stricken and replaced, as long promised, by "Version". Those of you checking out Zope from CVS might notice this. Michel also starting work on renaming and fixing Principia Drafts, as well as work on an honest-to-goodenss Session object. Oh, and he also gave a *killer* demo of NotMail yesterday. He has hooked the folders to the tree tag and implemented a connection manager object that dramatically speeds up response time. Unfortunately he's out for a week. :^) Those of you doing a CVS checkout might also find out our big announcement for today. --Paul

Hello, In the story "track them all down", two other examples of harcoded expiring date for cookies: lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py lib/python/Shared/ZRDB/DA.py I wonder... in lib/python/Products/OFSP/Session.py, the expiring date for the cookie is commented out. According to the specs, this mean that the cookie expires when you close the browser. Does this mean that a session last only until the browser is closed? The information about the open session must be stored elsewhere. IE 3.x has a bug in the handling of TEXTAREA tag: *everything* that is between <textarea> and </textarea> belongs to the field. lib/python/OFS/documentEdit.dtml reads: <textarea /* various stuff deleted */> </textarea> An extra line is added to anything being edited. notes on running a zope in readonly mode.

Ok, so I've started playing with running zope in readonly mode. (background: I want to run multiple zopes in parallel, with only one with read-write access to the database. This gives a sort of brutal concurrency, since the changing data is all off in an SQL database (well, ok, in 3 different databases, but let's not get into that)). There's the ZOPE_READ_ONLY environment flag which seems to do the trick - but it _appears_ that the zope application that is then created will not pick up changes to the bobobase without being kicked in the head and restarted. just in case anyone else was wondering... more when I have the loadbalancing working.

Acquiring DTML Methods in context of DTML Document

I have a pair of DTML methods, say: manage_foo -- displays a form with foo's properties update_foo -- target of manage_foo's SUBMIT; which I would like to apply to a set of DTML Documents which exist in the same directory: Foo1, Foo2. The URL, .../foostuff/Foo1/manage_foo hurls, whereas if I put  in the body of the document, it works fine. Info on BTree

Has anyone figured out how to use BTree and Searching yet? I've glanced through the Confera code and looks like I can use it like a Dictionary but I'm not sure. I don't have the time for experimentation at the moment so I figured I would take the lazy route and just ask...
