Zope 2: circular import

Hi! I stumbled over a circular import in Zope 2. in DocumentTemplate.DT_Util: from ZPublisher.TaintedString import TaintedString this triggers ZPublisher.BaseRequest with: from AccessControl.ZopeSecurityPolicy import getRoles this triggers AccessControl.DTML with: from DocumentTemplate import DT_Util With try/except imports and the right import order this works, but it would be better to break up that circle. At first glance the solution is simple: TaintedString doesn't have any dependencies and is used by DocumentTemplate and ZPublisher. So it should be moved to a place where both modules can use it without triggering countless imports. But where would be a good place for TaintedString? It is too small to create a package just for that. In which existing package would it fit? Or should we just add a copy of TaintedString to DocumentTemplate? Any ideas? Cheers, Yuppie

easy_install 2.12.2 errors on docutils dependency

Running easy_install -i http://download.zope.org/Zope2/index/2.12.2 Zope2 in a virtualenv w/o site packages failed on the following dependency. It of course was easy to easy_install docutils and finish the install successfully. I was just about to commit the same thing + the removal of the dependency on zope.testing in setup.py. I committed that second part now. Before I release the egg on PyPI: 1. Should we release as 1.1.2 (a minor change), or 2. Does the removal of dependency on zope.testing warrants a bump to 1.2.0? FWIW, I preferred zope.testing.doctest reporting of 15 tests because that's the actual number of things being tested in that file, while Python doctest reports 1 test only, because that's a number of test files being run.
