-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I have a requirement to run a root uid Z2 process and was most surprised to see that line 334 of Zope/Startup/__init__.py expressly forbids this, throwing a ZConfig.ConfigurationError While it's not a good idea to configure Zope to run as root by default, isn't it completely fascist to disallow it altogether? Similarly, I'd now expect issues if I chose to attach a Z2 to a low port. As far as I'm concerned, the account policy (and port too) is clearly defined by directives in zope.conf and should be honoured - clearly someone's consciously made these configuration changes and is thus fully accepting of their potential consequences. How about relaxing this requirement? roman.py missing on 2.7 branch?

subobject in BaseObject

Archetypes has a cool feature: when MS doc are transform to html, pictures in the doc are stored as subobject of the content. After many tests, the feature works only when anonymous can view the content. Or the picture will not show even I login at admin. I traced it, and found it fails at the last step: it returns the correct wrapper object, but fails when call the following __call__ method(no permission). It is quite strange since the __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__ is already in the Wrapper class. ZopeGuards iterator problems

I just created issue #1656 and checked in a fix, so looping over enumerate(xrange(9)) is now possible, among other things. Should we add entries for the various iterator types to the security machinery so that iterators returned by the itertools module can be used without lots of tedious wrapping? Cheers, Evan @ 4-am

Authentication failed in case of redirect

Hi, I have a zope installation available on a pubblic IP address. A user may address this by an url, the domain manager redirect the request on my IP. It works well but the login process doesn't work properly. I think it's a problem of cookie settings. Any idea ? Thanks !! Claudio Ramini

Hello, After disabling Anonymous access in "Wedbav Access" permission on root folder, I've lost all non-Manager accesses in 2.6.4 servers : Each time I try to access a restricted page (anonymous access works), I have the folowing : Traceback (innermost last): Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 89, in publish Module ZPublisher.BaseRequest, line 438, in traverse Module ZPublisher.HTTPResponse, line 663, in unauthorized Unauthorized: <strong>You are not authorized to access this resource.</strong> I've reactivated anonymous access for webdav, same thing. Reorganizing docutils

Based on the recent discussion on the list concerning inclusion of Docutils I would like to follow Jim's proposal: - importing the current Docutils version into cvs.zope.org|svn.zope.org (which location? Packages/Docutils?) - CVS: linking the docutils subdirectory to Zope/lib/python (requires help from ZC) - SVN : using svn cp - getting rid of lib/python/third_party, lib/python/sitecustomize.py I would like to make these changes within the next days to get 2.7.4 final out of the door as soon as possible.
