Zope and interbase

Pessoal, é o seguinte: Guys, i have a problem... i'm working on a site with Zope and Interbase, and sometimes some strange things start to happen... when a lot of requests are made, for example, if someone press F5 and keep it pressed, zope locks and interbase too if we acess a page that doesn't uses Interbase, in the same server, zope doesn't locks, even if we try to acess it with more than one user at a time i think that's something wrong with my Interbase connector. I'm using ZFirebird, because we already had this problem with L Interbase Connector. If someone could show me a better Interbase connector ou another form of solving this problem, i would be glad... thanx in advance

I ran this code and monitored the page "Cache extreme detail" in ZMI > ControlPanel > DebugInfo. With this method, the object was not loaded. However the intermediate objects that the unrestrictedTraverse() passed by were loaded into memory. e.g. If doc.getPath() is '/x/y/z/myobject', myobject was not loaded but x, y, and z were loaded into memory. I also tried the method suggested by Seb. Windoz file naming

Guys, I've just run into a problem and wondered if there was an elegant resolution. My BastionBanking package contains: currency.py - pure python Currency.py - Zope derivation The idea is that using the setup.py script, you can load currency.py into your Python modules and use it outside Zope if you wish. However, under Windoz, it doesn't recognise the different file names and wont allow them to both reside in the same directory! I had intended to use this technique widely to have a single distribution stream for both pure Python and Zope-wrapped modules. Controlling start en finish of a request

Hello, I need help with ideas on how to solve my little problem here. I need to sort of be "more in control" of a request, meaning that at the beggining of a request I want to set some variables and call some python scripts and at the end of a request I want to set soem other variables and call some other python scripts How would I be able to accomplish that? We sort of have semi-solved it by setting and calling from standard_html_header and standard_html_footer, but that is not enough. IS there a way of achieving what I want to do? I was told on IRC to do look into TransactionManager but I don't know how to make this availabel Zope-wide. Any ideas are appreciated. What's the recommended Zope-Squid configuration?

Hi, I found two HOWTOs on setting up Squid as web cache for Zope. One of them is from http://www.zope.org/Members/htrd/howto/squid In this config, Squid and Zope communicate with each other via ICP. Zope is started with --icp option. No Accelerated HTTP Cache Manager is used (or is it necessary?) The other one is from http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1043965452 This config requires patching of AcceleratedHTTPCacheManager.py (patch provided). Zope does not need --icp option, but Accelerated HTTP Cache Manager is added to communicate with Squid via PURGE method. What's the difference? Which configuration is recommended for performance? Debugging Zope with Eric3

Hi there Zope Folks. I'm new to this list. I've been using Zope on and off for around 3 years just to produce a few simple sites - lots of external methods but no products. However, I'm embarking on a much more ambitious project and am looking to address one of the biggest problems I've encountered in the past, namely debugging. After much googling around, I discovered Eric3, which the release notes indicate has a remote debugging facility which is useful for debugging Zope apps. I've got Eric3 up and running, but the docs are somewhat non-existent and I've not succeeded in getting further than using it as an editor. I've trawled the lists and cant see anything on this subject. Can anyone offer any tips as to how I can debug Zope with Eric3? TeeVeeEm Mark

cvs.zope.org had a problem with its hardware RAID controller today that required manual intervention. In order to solve what we think is the main cause we are going to have a downtime from 4PM EST until about 4:30 PM EST today to remove some dodgy hard drives. jens

how can I prevent undo?

Hi there, I have objects that are linked to an external database. When they are deleted, also the data in the external database is deleted. Now an undo is bad, because I then get an object with ab link to non existing data. I must therefore prevent undo. How can I do that?
