Resize a image stored in a Oracle's BLOB Field

Hello, Thanks, I have displayed the images which them was stored in a Oracle's BLOB field, with: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type','image/jpeg')"> <dtml-in SQLMethod_with_a_Only_Row> <dtml-var expr="BLOB_FIELD.read()"> </dtml-in> However, I would like to resize this image. I can not do it with the "height" and "width" attributes, because the image is obtained from a Oracle's BLOB field, and no from image object (i.e.: I can not use <dtml-var "ImageObject.tag(border='5', align='left')">). How can I do it ? Thanks again !

New info for ZCatalog and CatalogAware classes, and Question

This seems to apply to two howtos: (A) How-To: Creating a CatalogAware ZClass (B) How-To: Inheriting from ZCatalog as a Container So I thought I would post it here so that both authors, and the rest of the dev community can see it and comment on it. I apologize for any roughness, I am hoping one or both of the howtos would be updated to reflect the new data. Alternatively, I could make a seperate howto if needed. What I was doing: I am working on a product (KnowledgeKit v2.0) that has a root container inherited from ZCatalog, and has Catalog_Aware Objects inside of it. The basics of what I did can be extrapolated further for other circumstances. For the Catalog_Aware object: In the add_form, I added a hidden variable, called 'catID', and gave it a value: <input type=hidden name=catID value="<dtml-var "PARENTS[0].id">"> This will work when the object to be added form is under the Container Object. See below for alternatives I have come up with. Then, in the constructor method, I modified the code in HowTo A to be: <dtml-call unindex_object> <dtml-call "manage_editCataloger(catID, REQUEST)"> <dtml-call index_object> The benefit is that you can use the Catalog object (FooContainer in this example) normally, ie. without adding the 'Catlog' DTML Method to the Container object. Additionally, one could make a catalog in the root of the site, which indexes every ZCatalog on the site, looking only for 'id', and create a dropdown list on the object's add_Form to select the catalog to index to. Look for an update on this with 2.0 of The KnowledgeKit. I believe this answers one of the todo parentheticals in HowTo A: (To do: how about adding a drop-down list to choose a catalog? Can I register a class instance in several catalogs?] <ramble> Regarding the latter question there, is it possible to index in one catlog, and then index in another? If so, you could do it by setting the catalogue to one, indexing/modifyin, and then setting the catalog to another, and repeating? </ramble> Question: Are there any effects of making a ZClass which is also Catalog_Aware? IOW, does it work? Does it break anything? PLS HELP Zope: hangs + instable

Hi, We've just recently started www.linuxvideo.org with Zope and run into serious problems with our Zope Installation - Zope just hangs after 2-3 days running. :( First our configuration: 2 x Intel Celeron 433MhZ Processor 128MB RAM Linux 2.2.13 Zope 2.1.1-src (we had the same problems with 2.1.0, We've bound Zope to just 1 of 2 ip addresses on our system. We run the plain Zope Server on Port 80) Python 1.5.2 Problem description: After some time of running flawlessly, our Zope installation hangs without any error message. If you want to connect to www.linuxvideo.org via your browser you get an endless: "HTTP request sent; waiting for response.". Telnet to linuxvideo.org on port 80 _is_ possible: When I "telnet linuxvideo.org 80" and type some gibberish, after some time the Medusa webserver reacts: --snip-- HTTP/None 400 Bad RequestServer: Medusa/1.13 Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 136 Date: Thu, 30 Dec 1999 10:42:30 GMT --snip-- ... My faked request is logged in Z2.log too (2nd line): 62.188.156.147 - - [29/Dec/1999:11:54:21 +0200] "GET /04devel/01index_status HTTP/1.0" 200 10117 "http://www.linuxvideo.org/04devel/05index_res" 195.34.156.176 - - [30/Dec/1999:10:42:30 +0200] "kjdsalfjklsdjfkalsfjsfdfsdafds" 400 269 "" "" BUT no page will show up in any browser. Zope processes are working normal (no 100% CPU usage, ect.). What can we do to prevent Zope from hanging like that again. Do you need some more debugging infos? problems upgrading zope

hi everyone! i attempted to convert a Data.bbb (Zope-1.10.3, ZODB2) database file to a Data.fs (Zope-2.1.1, ZODB3 ?) file using the following syntax: python utilities/bbb.py -x -f Data.fs Data.bbb which returned "corrupt database" error messages. this happened on three different occassions and at very early positions of the database file, i.e. 0 or 9. reversing the reading from back to front using the -e option did not help either. the original database files seem to be fine. at least the 1.10.3 servers are up and running without any problem. the server is an intel box, running suse linux 6.2. we are running python 1.5.2. is this a known problem and does anyone have a workaround. please excuse if this issue was raised here earlier. it seems that i am not receiving all postings from the mailing lists :( please also 'cc' your replies to my e-mail address (basti(a)beehive.de) for the same reason. ciao, basti -------------------------------------------------------------------------- sebastian f. luehnsdorf beehive elektronische medien gmbh -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://basti.beehive.de http://www.beehive.de mailto:basti@beehive.de mailto:service@beehive.de http://www.zope.de fon: (+49 30) 84 78 20 http://www.i-surf.de fax: (+49 30) 84 78 22 99

Mike, How do I get the etcUserFolder out of a Zope if it won't allow a login. I've tried a crty module for my system, and it won't let me into the mangement interface. Help? imho it's a bad idea to have non source files in the CVS tree. I have just seen some in ./lib/python/Products/PythonMethod/zbytecodehacks/tests I guess these aren't required, but wouldn't it be a good idea to remove them? -- Robin Becker

Zopmisters, One thing I notices is that Zope is getting the url wrong for the expansion icon. The "plus" sign gives me a url that is exactly one number less that the id of the object that should be there. For example the url of the "plus" image is: http://localhost:8080/MainFolder/1573/105749/left?tree-e=eJyLVneEAP9Q71BbdR… -- And should be: http://localhost:8080/MainFolder/1573/105750/left?tree-e=eJyLVneEAP9Q71BbdR… -- I underlined the error.
