Reversing symlink namespaces ???

Shane/All, Anybody using the symlink product? It seems to me it uses namespaces in the wrong order. Imagine the hierarchy below: Root Folder1 doc1 Folder2 symlink1 Now let's assume that Folder1 has a property 'copyright', and also that Folder2 has a property of the same name. At the moment the 'copyright' from Folder1 is used in preference to the 'copyright' from Folder2 when viewing the symlink. Does this seem right? Can't add object

I'm developing ZopeGUM (http://www.zope.org/Members/morphex/ZopeGUM) and I have a small problem: Adding a NewsMessageIndicator within a NewsGroupFolder doesn't work. When adding a NewsMessageIndicator, the first time around it just halts after pressing the 'Add' button; the second time it takes the entire Zope process down, without any indication in the debug output (stdout when starting Zope from the command line). Debug information: Zope version: Zope 2.2.2 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) Python version: 1.5.2 (#1, Mar 11 2000, 13:03:53) [GCC 2.95.2 19991024 (release)] System Platform: linux2 Process ID: 2808 (4101) Running for: 12 min 8 sec Any ideas? ZPatterns bug: no help subdirectory in PlugIns

PlugIns-0-4-3b1 (part of the latest ZPatterns release). __init__.py fails because at line 8 context.registerHelp() fails, as there is no "help" subdirectory in the PlugIns product folder. I guess this is an empty directory that got missed off when the whole thing was tarred up. Folderish object not in management tree

I've created a folderish object via a python product. I've just recently upgraded to zope 2.2.2. When clicking on the link to any instances of my object in the management interface (but in the *tree* part of the management interface only) the url is wrong, it points to: http://localhost/zope/zope/manage_workspace where it should point to: http://localhost/zope/myObject/manage_workspace Even weirder, the little 'plus' sign by it expands the object's contents just fine, and weirder still, going to the folder my object lives in, and clicking on it in the main frame of the management interface, the url is correct and all is fine. What gives? TIA, -Brett

Boa Constructor

There I was, toying with the idea of writing a simple family checkbook app using ZODB and wxPython. I discover a lacking feature in wxGrid, so I go to www.wxpython.org to see if there's a new version out. Sure enough, there is. Then I look at the wxPython archive to see if anyone had had the same problem. A mention of "Boa Constructor", hmm. I visit the site. Great screenshots, small archive. I download it. While downloading, I think, "wouldn't it be neat if I could access Zope through such a nice IDE?" That was when I realized that Christmas is coming early this year!! http://boa-constructor.sourceforge.net/ http://boa-constructor.sourceforge.net/Screenshots/ZopeExplorer.png Don't let the "0.0.4" version number scare you away. This project is in great shape IMHO. According to Riaan, the author: "...yes, the version is a bit misleading. One reason I've kept it low is that the project is technically not in alpha yet. As I understand it alpha is supposed to be feature complete and there are still a few I want to cram in. Expect the version to jump when we get to alpha." Shane

Typo in Version.py

Just discovered a missing "%" in Version.py. I found it in Zope 2.1.6, but it's still there in the current CVS. Here's a patch against 2.1.6; it should apply cleanly to the latest code. Using Zope-modules in Python

Hi, I want to use some Zope-modules in plain Python, no web-stuff, namely ZODB and Persistence (maybe others too ). I've installed BeOpen Python 2.0 and Zope 2.2.2. I want to import the Zope-modules, but adding the C:\Program Files\WebSite\lib\python-folder to sys.path just doesn't cut it. I get an import error. Running on Windows 2000. Any tips, hints or guides wanted. Thanks! Thomas
