Recursive folders from Python

Zopists, Yesterday I was trying to create recursive folders from DTML. I'd like to do the same from Python. Does anyonw know why this code won't create a folder within a folder. It's tells me the id is already in use, so that means it's not descending into the newly created folder to make another folder. def create(self): for digit in range(0, 10): folder = self.manage_addFolder(str(digit), str(digit)) subfolder = self.folder.manage_addFolder(str(digit), str(digit)) All my best, Jason Spisak 444(a)hiretechs.com

SQL user source, how is this?

Am I doing anything wrong that will bite me later, especially I have not implemented all of the cache* methods called in GenericUserFolder because I don't understand what these do or what they are for. Are these important for my product? 2. I would like my client to be able to specify an alternate database connection id if he does not want to use the default connection id of cc_user_database. If he goes to his CCUserSource's "properties" tab and adds a property of use_database_id with the connection id he wants to use, how do I access it (this is my first Zope product, so I am learning the internals as I go along). Can I use self.use_database_id or do I have to use getattr(self, 'use_database_id') or do I have to use a completely different method to access properties. PS: I know I am giving everybody that passes authentication the manager role, I did this for testing purposes and haven't changed it yet because I have not been given me a list of the roles they want to use. -- Harry Henry Gebel, ICQ# 76308382 West Dover Hundred, Delaware

ZMYSALDA - Ports

People Has anyone managed to patch the MYSQLDA so that you can access a MySQL server on a different port? i.e. port 3307 instead of the default 3306 If so would you care to share the breakthrough with me please? Andy Dawkins

Why would I want another Specialist for photos? Photos are just another attribute of a Product. They just happen to be stored separately, a distinction which I think should happen at the Rack level. I created my Products Specialist with 3 racks: 'defaultRack' for Product properties, 'photoRack' for photos, and 'priceRack' for product price options (every product can have multiple price options, so I don't store a price in the product properties). Then I can have methods in each Rack to deal with the specific object stored in it, and methods in the Specialist to handle the overall view. I can also have a SkinScript in the defaultRack to return a virtual Product object which includes a list of photo objects. [Phillip J. Eby] | 0.8.6 won't work with 0.3.0 ZPatterns, IIRC. I'm pretty positive it | requires one of the 0.4.x releases, but I'm not positive which one. You | might be better off with the latest (current) releases of both. Okay, I tried different ZPattern versions against the most recent LoginManager (0.8.7a1) and 0.4.2a2 worked! | If that still doesn't work for you, Ty is very close to releasing an 0.8.8 | LM, and I'm about as close to releasing 0.4.3 ZPatterns. Both will be | beta-quality releases, which is to say better than anything we've put out | on either product so far. :) 0.4.3 ZPatterns will even have some | documentation in it. :) I expect that we will make our releases some time | during this coming week. I'm looking forward to it. Especially some documentation. =) Thanks. -Morten

dtml-in with objects and an expression

Hi I'm trying to get my head around something that should be simple :-) I have a stack of objects called shcgbRallyDetails (details about husky races). I want to display the next 3 races that are about to close their entry submissions. eg display the next three rally details where the closingdate is greater_or_equal to ZopeTime() I've got this working to prove the expression and dtml-in - but I'm now stuck :-( <dtml-in "working.rallydetails.objectValues(['shcgbRallyDetails'])" sort=closingdate> <dtml-unless "closingdate <=ZopeTime()"> <A HREF="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var shortname></a><BR><br> Closing: <dtml-var closingdate </dtml-unless> </dtml-in> All help would be appreciated Guy

LoginManager and ZPatterns

I've been fiddling a bit with the LoginManager; but can't seem to make it work. The product versions are ZPatterns 0.3.0 and LoginManager 0.8.6. (Downgraded the ZPatterns product because the LoginManager couldn't find a class named .. SheetProviderContainer, I think). When adding a LoginManager object, it raises a TypeError exception, on line 313 in PlugIns.py, saying that a keyword parameter was redefined. I've also been looking around for some useful documentation and searched the mailing-lists.. Anyone had success with these two products, and would care to share a howto? Thanks in advance. -Morten

Adding a new UserSource

I am trying to add a new UserSource for LoginManager. I placed a directory SampleUserSource in /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Products , in this directory I placed two files __init__.py and SampleUserSource.py . Here are the contents of the files: __init__.py: from SampleUserSource import SampleUserSource def initialize(context): ''' Register SampleUserSource class as a ZPatterns Plug-in''' context.registerPlugInClass( SampleUserSource, permission = 'Add Sample User Source', constructors = defaultConstructors(SampleUserSource, globals())) context.registerBaseClass(SampleUserSource) SampleUserSource.py: from Products.LoginManager.UserSources import BasicUserSource class SampleUserSource(BasicUserSource): """ Sample UserSource plugin """ meta_type = "Sample User Source" def retrieveItem(self, name): raise NotImplementedError def rolesForUser(self, user): raise NotImplementedError def domainsForUser(self, user): raise NotImplementedError def authenticateUser(self, user, password, request): raise NotImplementedError I restart Zope, but the new user source does not show up in the products list, nor does it show up in the list of available user sources. Obviously, I am missing something here either about making Python Products or plug-ins. If anyone could point out to me what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it.
