Resize a image stored in a Oracle's BLOB Field

Hello, Thanks, I have displayed the images which them was stored in a Oracle's BLOB field, with: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type','image/jpeg')"> <dtml-in SQLMethod_with_a_Only_Row> <dtml-var expr="BLOB_FIELD.read()"> </dtml-in> However, I would like to resize this image. I can not do it with the "height" and "width" attributes, because the image is obtained from a Oracle's BLOB field, and no from image object (i.e.: I can not use <dtml-var "ImageObject.tag(border='5', align='left')">). How can I do it ? Thanks again !

_getOb or __getattr__?

Hi, I need a product with custom attribute getting code and so looked to the BTreeFolder product for inspiration. It implements both __getattr__ and _getOb which appear to do roughly the same thing. What's the difference? Shane hints that __getattr__ is slower but allows acquisiton. Why is that? TIA, Chris

TransWarp preview release (AOP tools only)

It's here... the first preview release of TransWarp. The bad news is, it only contains working versions of the aspect-oriented programming tools (the rest of the package is in flux). The good news is: 1. It's a *robust* working version, with 114 unit tests to prove it, and 2. New PostgreSQL Database Adapters: psycopg and ZpsycopgDA

Hi *, the guys here at initd (http://initd.org/) arre happy to announce the release of psycopg, a Python/PostgreSQL driver module and ZPsycopgDA, a Zope Database Adapter based on the psycopg driver. Now, I'll answer the questions you asked... (_what_ questions? well... follow me...) Q. Why another postgresql dba? we already have pygres and popy! A. That's true. We had some ideas about a performant, thread-safe driver and we wanted to hack a little bit. the resulting driver is slim, fast, with clean code and some nice features (see below.) Writing a Zope DBA was a logical consequence only because we use it. Q. Should I switch to psycopg and zpsycopgda? A. Not if you are happy with your current driver [and i hope it is popy ;-)] The only real reason is if you want the advanced features you can find only in psycopg: 1/ level-2 thread safety 2/ advanced type-casting system 3/ automatic management of multiple phisical connections to the DB (one per thread) to speed up queries 4/ extremely clean and maintainable code also, in a future release (0.5) zpsycopgda will support db and table management from zope management screens. Q. Hey! you're from MIXAD LIVE, is psycopg a popy fork? A. No, psycopg is 100% clean code. we had some ideas on how a db driver should workin a heavily multithreaded environment and we wanted to test them. that's all. Q. Where can I download it? CopySupport issues

These comments are against the CVS of about a week ago. I can't get to the CVS to update at the moment - the connection times out. Is there a reason why the manage_main call at the end of manage_copyObjects and manage_cutObjects in CopySupport gets called as self.manage_main(REQUEST) instead of self.manage_main(self, REQUEST)? Using the first form, we found that the manage_main call was dying because it couldn't acquire various attributes and methods it needed (eg, manage_page_header :). The second form just makes sense... In the Copy operation of manage_pasteObjects, the manage_afterClone is called before the object is added to its container. We'd much prefer the object to be both added to the container and re-got so it the manage_afterClone call may make use of acquired information. This is of use specifically for us so that the object may determine its new URL and catalog itself with our (Z)Catalog. Interestingly, a call to absolute_url() on the object breaks because self.REQUEST is '<Special Object Used to Force Acquisition>' (yes, a string).
