Magnus, No, changeOwnership is not exposed for TTW calling. But you can expose it through an external method... Hia guys, I was wondering if any of you could give me a couple of hints about how to make the _.{random,string,range,Datetime} thingies from a tag expression. I.e. instead of doing this: <dtml-widget select options="[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13]" selected="[1,3,5,7,9,11,13"> This could be done: <dtml-widget select options="_.range(1,14,1)" selected="_.range(1,14,2)"> Like this (with the DTML var tag): <dtml-var "[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]"> <dtml-var "_.range(1,11)"> Thanks & cheers, Morten

clipboard utility

Just a quick thought - It'd be useful to be able to see what is on your 'clipboard' when you're copyandpasting. Would it be a Bad Thing to factor out the first bit of OFS.CopySupport.manage_pasteObjects into a separate function, which is callable TTW? You could then iterate over the objects on the clipboard in dtml, etc. seb

ZEO client-server protocol endian-safe?

Any known gotchas with running ZEO server and ZEO client on boxes of different endianness? e.g. the server running on sun solaris/sparc, while the clients are on x86 linux boxes. I'd expect it to be fine, but am feeling paranoid... ta, Anthony.

Using PropertySheet properties in Python-based DataSkin product

Hi, I'm building a custom DataSkin in a Python product, and I need to have different permissions for different properties. I've traced the way this is done in ZClasses but I'm not sure how to implement it in Python or what classes and methods to use. First, there's DataSkinSheet, ZCommonSheet, and PropertySheet. Would a PropertySheet work on a Rack? The interfaces added by ZCommonSheet seem to be aimed at using it in a ZClass, so I guess they aren't needed, but the v_self method added by DataSkinSheet might be needed? Then I need to assign permissions to the sheet. Do I modify the __ac_permissions__ of PropertySheet? I don't think I can use ZCommonSheet.manage_setPermissionMapping as it uses ZClass permissions mappings... or is there another way to do this? Also, to add properties to the sheet, do I need to call _setProperty for each property in the class __init__ method? Or is there a simpler/quicker way? May be someone has defined an object of this name. To find out the culprit, it would probably the easiest thing to add a "print" statement in "Role.py" that outputs "valid" together with the result of "getId()", if this is defined. Dieter

Can't access manage_access ...

Hi! Anyone seen this before? It happens when I want to access a folder's "manage_access" page. The thing worked all the time, and I don't know what could have changed that. The Zope version is 2.3.1. source version with Python 1.5.2.
