no reload of image in management interface of python product

hello all i have a python product with an image as a property now i display the image in the management screen, but when i change the image via the management interface the browser does no refresh of the image is set the mod time like this: self.doc_icon.lmt=time.time() self.doc_icon.lmh=rfc1123_date(self.doc_icon.lmt) doc_icon is a ImageFile so the date changes but the browser doesn't update this do i have to add something in the http header of the management page or so please help -- bernd

Data.fs lost?? ideas?

In an attempt to upgrade the Zope from 2.3.1b1 to 2.3.2 we encountered a problem. All the data in out Data.fs file was lost so it had to be restored from a backup. Any ideas as to what the problem may have been??? Procedure Stopped the Zope instance Changed the Zope instance home and port Restarted Came back to prompt quickly Logs were empty when checked Enabled Debug Restarted Logs show Data.fs is locked Made sure Zope was stopped Killed the process that had the file locked (kill -9) Restart Realised file was 1.6meg not 700 Ideas guys?? CMF 1.1

Hi I have installed Zope2.3.3 with the INSTANCE_HOME & SOFTWARE_HOME structure. The $INSTANCE_HOME has the directories var & Products and also the files - zctl.py, access, custom_zodb.py and zope.conf. I followed the "Advanced Production Site Setup with ZEO." by D Shaw. I have now installed CMF1.1 in the "Products" directory under $INSTANCE_HOME. When I go the management interface, I am not able to see the CMF under Products in the Control Panel. I start Zope from $INSTANCE_HOME by typing - "./zctl.py start". Can anyone please tell me how I can solve this? Zope version I am using is - 2.3.3 and python version is 1.5.2. Thanks Priya

Zcatalog bloat problem (berkeleydb is a solution?)

Hello Zopistas, we are developing a Zope 2.3.3 (py 1.5.2) application that will add, index and reindex some tens of thousands objects (Zclass that are DTMLDocument on steroids) on some twenty properties each day, while the absolute number of objects cataloged keeps growing (think at content management for a big portal, where each day lots of content are added and modified and all the old content remains as a searchable archive and as material to recycle in the future). This seems for some aspects a task similar to what Erik Enge impacted couple a weeks ago. We first derived from CatalogAware, then switched to manage ourselves the cataloging - uncataloging - recataloging. The ZODB still bloat at a too much fast pace. ***Maybe there's something obvious we missed***, but when you have some 4thousands object in the catalog, if you add and catalog one more object the ZODB grows circa a couple of megabyte (while the object is some 1 k of text, and some twelve boolean and datetime and strings properties). If we pack the ZODB, Data.fs returns to an almost normal size (so the bloat are made by the transactions as tranalyzer.py confirms). Any hints on how to manage something like? We use both textindexes, fieldindexes, and keywordsindexes (textindex on string properties, fieldindexes on boolean and datetime, keywordindex on strings). Maybe one kind of indexes is to be avoided? Erik, any toughts? We are almost decided to switch to berkeleydb storage (the Minimal one) to get rid of the bloating, we are testing with it, but it seems to be discontinued because of a lack of requests. Any light on it? Is it production grade? -giovanni

RestrictedDTML w/isPrincipiaFolderish: error with CMF 1.1 and Zope 2.4.0

Hello. I'm getting the following error message (see below) while accessing the contents of a folder (http://localhost/cmf/Portal/FolderD/folder_contents) underneath a CMF site instance. I was testing Python 2.1, and CMF 1.1/Zope 2.4.0 (latest cvs checked out versions). I do not have any problem while using CMF 1.1 (latest cvs version), Zope 2.3.3, and Python 1.52. The starting ZODB database is identical in both cases. However, I'm not using the ZDebug product with Zope 2.4.0. I'm just not sure if the issue is due to: - CMF - isPrincipiaFolderish being used in the folder_contents skin or - Zope 2.4.0 - RestrictedDTML bug ? or - Zope 2.3.3 security mechanism bug ? or - bug in my acl setup I feel the following priviledges should be sufficient ... New Versions of SmartWizard, SmartSections and Product Generator Frontend

Hello everyone, I have uploaded my newest development version of SmartWizard and SmartSections, but I am not not sure they are more stable. They fix some serious bugs and some more comfort was added to SmartWizard. Or should it return everything for the wizard to handle? All what the wizard will do is provide the user with a nice interface/GUI to enter the information. I will then pass the information to the above mentioned management methods and the MakeZProduct Product will then generate the code and save it to the file system. BTW, we will assume that the user that runs the Zope engine has write access to /ZOPE/lib/python/Products. Best Free UML, XMI, Zope/Transwarp tools

I've been looking for a standard *FREE* tool that I can use to design Zope apps. I think my search is over. It seems to be a good tool for students because it's free and comes with support for Java, Persistence and XMI, Full and partial exchange.
