All, I'm in the process of creating a Python based equivalent for Cadaver. I think there is a minor but very annoying bug in the Zope WebDav server. I don't think the contents of the properties are being quoted. For instance: One object in my ZODB has a title of 'Declare interfaces for MIMEtype <-> Type object registry objects.' The '<->' is what causes the problem when parsed by xml.dom.minidom. Any ideas whether I'm right, and if so what can be done. Phil phil.harris(a)zope.co.uk +1 family member. If instead write this:   test<BR>   This work and diplay correctly: test test. This problem there is only ZOPE 2.4.0, the precedent version is run OK. Can you help ME ?

exceptions on windows

i've always been curious why zope on windows with a bundled python seems to have problems with finding the standard lib exceptions. does anyone know why? for example from exceptions import SyntaxError class MySyntaxErr(SyntaxError): pass in a product generates an import error. (i last noted this behavior on 2.2, haven't used windows since...) thanks -kapil

Zope 2.4.1 bugfix in RestrictedPython/__init__.py

Yo dudes, VSEval in Documenttemplate tries to set Eval No problem but RestictedPython has no Eval attribute by default so you need to import it add this line to RestrictedPython/__init__.py import Eval can someone add this to the source tree ? Tia & have fun, Sloot.

pluggable indexes and ranking

i've hooked up some external indexing machinery to zcatalog via a pluggable index. i get backed ranked results and i'd like not to loose the ranking info, but i don't know how to return a result set that preserves this information. any ideas? -kapil

problem with catalog awareness

hi all, i made a catalog aware class and want to use it with a catalog. i'm running zope 2.1.4 on a nt server (sp5). when i add the catalog aware object, it is automatically listed in the catalogs 'catalog' tab, but the indexes are not automatically updated (when i want to search them with a search interface, they do not exist). strange thing: when i copy the object in the manage enviroment, an paste it afterwards at same place, everything work fine! can someone help me! thanx

bug in OFS/Traversable.py

Hi there, There appears to be a bug in Zope 2.4.1's OFS/Traversable.py. I've tried to identify the same bug in the CVS, but oddly enough I couldn't find it. There doesn't appear to be any Zope 2.4.1 CVS branch and the Zope 2.4 branch didn't have any changes to this file in 3 months, but doesn't seem to have the same problem. Odd. Anyway, the bug isn't a large one; just a few uses of 'has' where 'hasattr' should be used (or there should be a line 'has = hasattr' somewhere near 'get = getattr'). Here's a diff that seems to fix the problem: 193c193 < if has(o, 'im_self'): --- > if hasattr(o, 'im_self'): 195c195 < elif (has(get(object, 'aq_base', object), name) --- > elif (hasattr(get(object, 'aq_base', object), name) So again, this is true for Zope 2.4.1 (source release), while the CVS does not appear to have the problem (but it just looks rather different in other places as well, even though last change was 3 months ago; I do not understand). Anyway, just so the bug won't be present in any new release. Regards, Martijn
