Maxinum number of versions for a single object in the ZODB ?

Yo, Somewhere in our deployment we have a SimpleItem.SimpleItem object with a random number generator in it. The code to get a new random number is: random=self.__random.random() #.... self._p_changed = 1 # make sure to store the changed generator We use that generator A LOT, but today, after some months of working correctly, it just stopped returning different random numbers. I have no other clue than to guess there is a maxinum number of different versions any object can have in the ZODB. Is my hunch correct ? TIA, Romain.

manage_changePropertyTypes

Has any work been done on the manage_changePropertyTypes interface of the PropertyManager? It's appearently pending community input. apache reverse proxy zope 2.7a1 bug?

hi all i currently installed the zope 2.7 alpha 1 release on my linux (rh9) server and on my win2k developement machine when the zope instance is directly accessed everything works fine, also the proxy access on the linux box works. but when i try to proxy zope through apache on my windoze box i get a 502 http error: excerpt from the apache errror logs:: [Wed Jul 09 13:44:01 2003] [warn] proxy: bad HTTP/1.1 header returned by ... (GET) it seems that zope 2.7 sends some corrupted http headers on windoze the zope instance yust logs the get, and does not raise an error I currently have all my zope instances proxied via apache by the use of ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse I'm quite shure that this is not an apache issue ... thanks for any help bernd

current zope2 head warnings with cur-cvs python

/usr/local/bin/python in Zope 2.7

Hello! Several scripts in Zope 2.7 from cvs has "#! /usr/local/bin/python" string at the beginning. When building zope rpm package, rpm thinks that resulting binary package should depend on /usr/local/bin/python. hard coded paths in pickles

I have been trying to clean up the structure in my python product and I find that if I move any file zope can no longer load the object associated with that file but new objects created work just fine. Unforunatley that is not an option since I have a lot of old data that I need to keep. Is there a solution to this problem that is feasible or with zope once you place a file at some location you can't ever move it. If it is true that once a file is at some location it can't be moved surely this needs to be fixed since it would make it very hard for long projects since they could not clean up the layout of the project over time as things change. Thanks

easy to fix bugs present in 2.7.0a1

The fix for collector issue 342 was never included on CVS-HEAD and hence didn't make it into the 2.7 branch, it continues to only exist on the 2.6 branch. Collector issue 799, dtml-tree still uses SCRIPT_NAME to generate the base path for its plus and minus images, SCRIPT_NAME breaks badly when Zope is proxied and has been discouraged since what... Zope 2.3 I believe. The patch changes dtml-tree so it uses BASEPATH1 which works correctly. Collector issue 628, the ZMI textareas, as I recently mentioned on this list, are currently all out of wack. I've written patches to fix this and normalize their behavior, its all really simple stuff. For URLs to the patches see issue 628. AFAICT, 2.7.0a1 never closes its open zodb connections, I mentioned this back in March and Fred said he'd look into it--was there any headway made on this? Collector issue 953, this is a dead simple 1-liner problem/fix, and really should be fixed in both 2.6.2 and 2.7 I'd also love to get some feedback on my queries re: Issue 28 ...
