Zope 2.12 and Globals.DevelopmentMode

Hello, Maybe I missed something, but it seems to me that Globals.DevelopmentMode in Zope 2.12 is always False, even if you start Zope in fg, or set debug-mode to on in the configuration file. And I tried App.config.getConfiguration().debug_mode, it's the same. Did I miss something ? There is a new (working) way to know if Zope is running in debug mode or not ? Hello Zope Developers, I am packaging many Zope libraries for Ubuntu. But my packages were rejected by archive admin because the source tarballs do not satisfy the inclusion requirements. >From https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Basic#Copyright : * The upstream tarball must contain verbatim copies of all licenses that are used by the files in the tarball. References to URLs or paths to system files (such as /usr/share/common-licenses/) are not sufficient. The license(s) must accompany the source code. Every file under the ZPL has a sentence "A copy of the ZPL should accompany this distribution." in it's header. But that's not the case. Very few packages ship a ZopePublicLicense.txt in their source. Reading the ZPL, its first condition is: 1. Redistributions in source code must retain the accompanying copyright notice, this list of conditions, and the following disclaimer. Since this condition is not met, such packages cannot be legally distributed. Who will add a copy of the license to each package in Zope SVN? When?

Reminder : zope.app.authentication

I worked last month on the package `zope.app.authentication` that is still very monolithic. As a first step to refactor it and in order to cut dependencies, I created and released the pluggable auth utility in a standalone package : http://pypi.python.org/pypi/zope.pluggableauth This package, now, has to be used by zope.app.authentication. I did that in a branch : http://svn.zope.org/repos/main/zope.app.authentication/branches/zope.plugga… Everything work as expected. I only removed what now lies in zope.pluggableauth and used import to preserve the backward compatibility. I didn't remove or alter any tests, only to adapt the __repr__ of some classes that are now moved. Everything seems OK for a release. So, the following steps would be : merge the branch with the trunk, if there no complains. Then, release the new trunk as a 3.7.0 version. Any feedback or insight is welcome. If it's possible, I like to get the ownership on the zope.app.authentication so I can proceed with the release. Thank you - Souheil

Zope2 ZMI and HTML5

Hi all, with HTML5 the frame-elements will die. It will probably take some years before the browser-support of HTML4 will stop, but still. Are there any alternative implementations for the Zope2-ZMI? There is a package zmi.core in the Zope-svn, but except some links to other packages there is nothing in it. Is the package alive and what's the targeted platform: Zope2, BlueBream, grok? -Tom

How to use Tramline

Hi Zopers, I want to get Tramline working, but I definitely need your help! The documentation on this is not complete at all.... Maybe someone can give me some (more) complete stuff about: - Do I need to inherit from some Tramline class to use it? I saw something like TramlineBase...., but I couldn't find that class in the Tramline sources - a short step-by-step guide, starting with (1) form submission (2) how do I get the "remote file path"? (3) how does it work with the two directories "repository" and "upload". Is this done automatically? (4) how do I actually store the "file ID" in the ZODB? (I want to store the uploaded files on the filesystem, not inside ZODB) I already read the stuff about attTramline from Plone and the HurryFile documentation, but I didn't understood it. By the way, I'm working with Grok, but there was nobody who could help me.... thanks a lot in advance.
