Hello, I'm about to release zope.pluggableauth. Is there a comprehensive documentation listing all the needed steps ? As I don't want to miss my first zope release, I'd like to be sure. For instance, the headers specify "A copy of the ZPL should accompany this distribution.", though i never saw this ZPL doc inside any of the zope.* packages. I don't want to delay this for too long, so I'll eagerly wait for your answers. - Souheil

Switching to the latest released ZODB3 package solved the problem for now. The existing ZODB works well with the latest release. Don't worry this is just a development trunk I don't need help. lovely.remotetask

Hi, Jean-Francois Roche and I need to port lovely.remotetask to Zope 2. We have started to look at the existing branch port-for-zope210. In order to clean the branch, we made a buildout to run its tests. Doing this, we found out that lovely.remotetask has some ui components that depends heavily on zope.app. We would like to refactor the package into two packages : The first one would hold backend components and would depend on zope.app as little as possible. (z3c.remotetask.core) The second one would hold the ui components. (z3c.remotetask.browser) We would also refactor lovely.remotetask to depend on the new packages. Comments welcome. z3c.password and "failedAttempts" and SessionCredentialsPlugin

Hi, I'm looking into integrating z3c.password into an application that also uses the PAU with the principal folder, InternalPrincipals and the SessionCredentialsPlugin. One of the features of z3c.password that I'd like to use is locking out an user account after a number of failed login attempts. z3c.password provides such a feature. However, it seems this feature does not play well with the SessionCredentialsPlugin: The SessionCredentials will store the login and password that were submitted through the login form in a session. This login/password combination then is checked against the internal principal stored in the principal folder. If the password is correct then (obviously) everything is fine. When the password is incorrect, the user is directed back to the login form as authentication failed. If the page with the login form retrieves resources (like images or css of javascript files) and since the zopepublication will _try_ to authenticate every request, the wrongful login/password combination is checked multiple times for that page and its resources against the internal principal object. The internal principal mixin of z3c.password will count the number of failed checks. If you tell it to lock out an user after, say, three failed attempts, you have a problem, as the number of login page resources (thus requests) will quite easily outnumber the maximum number of attempts. Questions: is anyone using this feature of z3c.password in combination with the SessionCredentialsPlugin? If this is working for you, do you have any idea what I am doing wrong here? What type of authentication are the authors of z3c.password using? Thanks for any insight here. regards, jw

Hi, I've just found this old checkin: http://www.mail-archive.com/zope-checkins@zope.org/msg04196.html . Can someone please explain me very briefly (or point out some documentation), why is it better to store a copy of bootstrap.py in every package instead of using svn:external?
