Zope2 monitoring

I'm trying to figure out what the current state of the art for monitoring Zope2 processes is. Ideally I'ld want the equivalent of zc.z3monitor. I figured the medua monitorserver would be a good start, but judging by the facts that it can only deal with clear-text passwords while the rest of Zope uses hashed passwords and anything unexpected, such as using command that produces a lot of output such as locals(), breaks the whole session makes me suspect that nobody is using that. What do other people use? Is there any interest in improving the medusa monitor server? Software developer for a Zope3 project needed

Hi, We are currently looking out for a Zope3/Python developer for an interesting project lasting approx. 30 to 35 days. I can't give exact details yet, but the following profile should be met: - High Zope3 skills - the project is 100% based on Zope3 technology, moreover, the project may include Zope3 enhancements that should find it's way into the Zope3 SVN, therefore involvement in the Zope3 community is a clear advantage. - Good Python and HTML knowledge The following points would be an advantage: - z3c.form/pagelet knowhow as our project is based on these packages - Knowledge about mobile-phone development (XHTML MP) and CSS - German speaking - The project can probably not be done from remote, personal presence will be required. Our location is near Vienna (Austria/Europe), so if you are located near us, things are a lot simpler. The exact schedule is not yet planned, but will be somewhere in june to august. Multiple file upload in a single form

Has anyone come across a Multiple File field type that be used in a form , specifically with z3c.form? This will enable an unlimited number of files to be uploaded in a single form. I know this exists in the Plone world. Just wanted to check for an analogous field for a zope3 application. If there isn't one there already, we would like to implement one. Any pointers welcome. BrowserIdManager help!

Hi, I am attempting to integrate a zope site with some other applications. I'm trying to get another application to set the _ZopeId browser/session cookie, so that users can move between the two with a single login. This requires me to reproduce the code below, so a valid broser Id is returned: (from Products.Sessions.BrowserIdManager 505:512) def getB64TStamp( b2a=binascii.b2a_base64,gmtime=time.gmtime, time=time.time, b64_trans=b64_trans, split=string.split, TimeStamp=TimeStamp.TimeStamp, translate=string.translate ): t=time() ts=split(b2a(`TimeStamp(*gmtime(t)[:5]+(t%60,))`)[:-1],'=')[0] return translate(ts, b64_trans) Unfortunately, I don't know any C, and the TimeStamp function is only available in C. I'm hoping someone can spare a few minutes to explain how this function could be coded in python so I can understand it, and produce a non-python function to return valid browser ids. Common-Criteria certification cancelled

Hi everyone, I have to give an unfortunate update about the Common Criteria (CC) certification. The CC project began in 2003 to certify Zope 3's security architecture under the conditions of the Common Criteria framework. We started out as a community effort which turned out not to be a viable solution due to the lack of interest of volunteers and the complexity of the problem space. gocept restarted the efforts in 2006 and provided a security target document which was given to review and moving pretty good actually. There were very concrete and viable plans for 2008 to finally get the certification wrapped up by end of may. Unfortunately the project had to be cancelled due to the lack of interest of the sponsoring organisation which went through a major merger. Due to that we're stopping all activities on the certification. If interest in this should come back at some point, we'd be happy to be part of a renewed effort. zope.sqlalchemy

Following discussions with Kapil, Christian and Martin I've developed zope.sqlalchemy. The aim is to provide a common base for transaction integration. It does not attempt to define any particular way to handle database configuration as there is not yet consensus on the best way to handle it. I've uploaded it to zope svn and pypi. See http://pypi.python.org/pypi/zope.sqlalchemy Currently it depends on a development version of SQLAlchemy. I hope to make a release following the 0.4.6 release of SQLAlchemy.
