TestRunner refactoring

Hi, I've spend some time in the last days refactoring the current zope.testing TestRunner [1]. I didn't make huge functional changes (it's called refactoring after all) and tried being careful about changes in the output. However, I integrated unit tests and functional tests into normal layers from the test runners perspective. This currently results in unit tests being executed at some time (not necessarily at the beginning) and the layer name to change from 'unit' to 'Running zope.testing.testrunner.layer.UnitTests tests'. I kept close to the existing tests and made the whole approach more formalized pluggable and hopefully easier to understand. If nobody objects I'll merge my changes tomorrow and continue improving on that basis. New key upload program

As most of you probably know, the machine that is known by many names, including mail.zope.org, svn.zope.org, cvs.zope.org, and download.zope.org, died Tuesday morning. Thanks to the heroic efforts of ZC operations staff, all of the services of the old machine were restored onto a new faster machine with a modern operating system. This was done by the end of Tuesday. One service that didn't make it was the old key-upload application. It used PHP libraries that we didn't want to move to the new box. Also, this program was pretty lame because it used a text area rather than a file upload to input keys. This led to lots of key mangling. I've replaced this application with a micro-Zope application. (This would have been a Bobo application if Bobo still lived. Bobo shall rise again!) The new application is available at: https://cvs.zope.org/upload-key.html If you need to change your keys, that's what you should use. call for comments for bug 159232

Hi everybody, I'd like to know your opinion about bug 159232: https://bugs.launchpad.net/zope3/+bug/159232 It's about a IMHO wrong test in ItemDisplayWidget of the zope.app.form package. I've made a patch (the second one in that bug) with a test that exercise the bug and a fix for it but I'm not sure about the correctness of it and that's why I ask you for review. Here is the problem: - When the values of a vocabulary are containers and they are *empty* the __call__ method of ItemDisplayWidget will return an empty string for them, instead of its matching token. There are two possible solutions: A) Change the test inside the __call__ method so when checking the result of self._getFormValue() it explicitily checks for the empty string B) Do the conversion from the vocabulary value to a form value in a custom _getFormValue method in the ItemDisplayWidget class What do you guys think? best regards, Lorenzo

buildout and extends on https

Hi there, Trying to move the KGS to our local server. Seems like buildout cannot "extends=" a cfg file that is on an https server. Seems like it loads extensions (like lovely.buildouthttp for authenticated http requests) later than it tries to read the "extends=" files. zope.app.locales i18nmergeall.py not used anymore?

Hi, zope/app/locales/TRANSLATE.txt says: ... After that, you need to merge those changes to all existing translations. You can do that by executing the ``i18nmergeall.py`` script from the ``utilities`` directory of your Zope 3 checkout: $ python utilities/i18nmergeall.py -l src/zope/app/locales So I tried that and found that in the 13 po files that are present, over 80 thousand lines were changed (counting all lines in an svn diff). Since the files combined have about 100 thousand lines, this could be called a fairly big change. :) So: is there a reason this merging is not regularly done anymore? Or can I just go ahead and submit those 80 thousand lines? Perhaps the zope.pot file should also be updated. I get an error when trying that though. Non-ASCII characters in URLs

Hi, Is there a good technical explanation for why Zope doesn't allow non-ASCII characters in URLs? I'd like to be able to let URLs work like this example from Wikipedia: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/メインページ When I try adding an object with ID "メインページ" in Zope 2, I get the following error message: Error Type: BadRequest Error Value: The id "&#12513;&#12452;&#12531;&#12506;&#12540;&#12472;" contains characters illegal in URLs.
