Object ID changed after modify

I just found out the object id is changed if It got updated/ If I want an object appear in different parts of the OODB. say, I got a person which joints several groups and thus have several appearence in the oodb. If the person updated his information, and his id got changed. How could I represent hime in zope? Is it impossible to have links of the object in different parts of the tree? Rgs, Kent Sin

In the long run, a xml editor will be able to get the document from zope, edit it, and update it through webdav. This will solve the gui editing problem. The user edit the document with the xml editor and can embeed the dtml tags inside the xml file to allow dynamic contents. Zope should take care the versioning : if an older version of xml file is exist, it will allociate a new version number, and publish the old version with another url (with versioning). Some new tags should be added to allow the automatically publish the history, the revision date, md5 etc of the document. Just like all the W3C documents on the web. Zope should also take care of publishing the document in multiple ways : source code, source code with dtml-rendered, html pre page, html tar ball, pdf, etc. Zope shoule be able to publish a partial sub-tree of the xml doc with criteria set (adding the root node if necessary). Zope should goes the way to client-side rendering as far as possible, with possible fallback facilities: zope should sent the xml file to the client, with xslt and css to off-load the server. A fallback parameter will then let the server do the rendering if the client fail to do so. Currently, zope's dtml syntax prevent it from embeeded in xml files. Versioning is required for zope to be a content manager. Does anybody have the DCOracle packege compiled for Windows NT? I'm desperatly trying to compile the files Buffer and Oci on NT without positive results. I'm using Oracle 8.0.5 and Python 1.5. Sergio

There is already a "reverse" attribute, how would rsort differ from this? Longer traceback from Zope?

I'm using zLOG to help with debugging, and I'm getting a bunch of these enigmatic log entries. Having just one traceback entry makes it hard to understand what happened. dtml-in attr request: rsort

Hi all. In my DocumentTemplate presentations, I frequently want to display items in reverse order. For example, dated items in reverse chronological sequence -- most recent to least recent. I usually create an inverse attribute so the items will display in the desired order. This occurs often enough that I'd like to request a new dtml-in tag attribute: rsort. This feature would be trivial to implement and shouldn't add any additional complexity to the current interface. Thoughts? Jeff Bauer Rubicon Research
