DateTime Error?

I think I have found an inconsistency in the Zope DateTime class. Zope : Load_site features request

Load_site is a greate product. I am using it to upload a brunch of files to zope now, I found I have an idea : In order to make the uploaded zope more alive, I would like the load_site to make everyfile in the original archive an folder in zope, with index.html representing the structure of the original html file. And all the contents goes to obj1, obj2, .... reside on the same folder. For example, Index_html : <dtml-var standard_header> <body><p><dtml-var object1></p><table><tr><td><dtml-var object2></tr></td></table> </body> <dtml-var standard_footer> This would make the resulting zope site more close to the zen of Zope. I am not very good in python but please give me some hints to made this modification. Will you make the change? Rgs, Kent Sin

The unique id problem come up again and again. The automatically generated unique id will benefit web author with sql row id object id and may be some others With a view that zope will be run over the network with distributed storage across the net, I would like to suggest we implement a unique id server which can be a zope server serving on another port and serialize all request and return the globally unique id. Does this work? I also suggest zope can be configured to automatically get the object id from this service and have globally unique object ids. Rgs, Kent Sin

starting a debug zope instance from a linux init script

Has anyone gotten a debug zope to start from a linux init script? I was able to manually start an instance by adding a "-D ''" line to the z2.py args in zserver.sh, & running that from the prompt, but the rc.d/init.d init script doesn't work when I do this. I'm using RedHat 6.1. The problem is possibly with the output that zserver wants to send to the terminal with -D. catalog_quote format

Zopists, I have finished my kludge-of-the-month offering. A filter that takes ascii charaters and numbers that the Catalog fails to recognize and converts them to a set of valid letters. I would like to make it able to be used just like html_quote. Can someone please give me a pointer on how to make an external method that can be used like html_quote. Can anyone provide some insight regarding the problem detailed below? Basically, I would like to add file attachment support to the ZDiscussion product. I have managed to do that successfully, however I cannot seem to create a URL to access the file such that it could be wrapped inside an HREF tag. FSSession woes

I'm try to use FSSession with Zope 2.1.4 on NT. I've create the var/FSSession directory, created a FSSession object and placed the call to FSSession in the standard header as such: <dtml-call FSSesion> This seems to execute OK. However, when I try to access the session I get an immediate error message of "AttributeError". When I place the line: <dtml-call "FSSession.set('SportID',5)"> or <dtml-unless "FSSession.has_key('SportID')"> I get an immediate error. I fear I've got FSSession installed/configured wrong. Amusing bug (feature?)

Hi, I just upgraded from Zope 2.0.1 to 2.1.6, and started getting strange output from DTML code that worked before. Looking at the code I found that I had carelessly typed &dtml-var title; - and in 2.0.1, it worked!
