Problems with LocalFS product and Zope 2.4

Hello, I have installed the Local File System 0.10.1 with Zope 2.4 in Win32 plataform, but when Zope was running, the next warnings are showed: C:\WZope\lib\python\ts_regex.py:87: DeprecationWarning: the regex module is deprecated; please use the re module import regex, regsub #, Sync C:\WZope/bin/lib\regsub.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regsub module is deprecated; please use re.sub() DeprecationWarning). It is showed too if Local File System 0.9.4 version was used. Anybody knows to how to do resolve it ? Thanks.

Problem getting to my variables

Newbie question: What's the syntax for accessing a variable in one method from another. Say the two methods: ---------- def manage_addFoo(self, id, title, REQUEST=None): A_folder = getattr(base_folder,someID) def manage_addBar(self, id, REQUEST=None): manage_addFoo.A_folder._setObject(id, BarObject) ---------- In the second method I simply want to add an object to A_folder which is defined in the first method. I would like to know what's the correct syntax (obviously my line 4 is wrong). And I don't want to use 'return A_folder' in manage_addFoo because it defines many such variables, each accessed by different other methods. I just want to selectively get at some specific variable. Zope CVS in bad state?

A few days ago, I made a fresh checkout of module "Zope" from ":pserver:anonymous@cvs.zope.org:/cvs-repository". I had hoped, I would get quite new Zope sources, something like 2.4+. But apparently, the available sources there are old and inconsistent. Up to now, I met several problems: 1. "cPickle.c" wants to include non-existent "mymath.h" 2. "z2.py" tries to import "ZLogger", but this is package "Zope" (ImportError) 3. "DateTime" still uses "regex" instead of "re" 4. "FileStorage" calls "append" with 2 rather than 1 argument 5. The documentation tells: you need "Python 1.5.2". What goes on? Dieter

zshell used without jaxml

Is the "programmatical" use of zshell documented somewhere? I see that it has provisions to get commands either from the web (from 'REQUEST') or from 'parameters'. But I can't figure out how to send it my parameters. I'm guessing the key is through 'zshellscript'. But I can't seem to get the syntax right. Could someone care to give me an example. Hi there ! I am working on my product ZExternalNews (http://www.zope.org/Members/odeckmyn/ZExternalNews) I have a problem that I did not have anticipated ! My product is made of 3 classes: 1/ ZExternalNewsManager (usually one per site), folderish that contains several ZExternalNewsChannel 2/ ZExternalNewsChannel (several per Manager), itemish. Contains 2 persistent properties (title and url) and a _v_items, a list of ZExternalNewsItem 3/ ZExternalNewsItem a very simple Python class (no inheritance from zope nor ZODB). It handles an atomic news item (like a single news item in slashdot for example). When ZExternalNewsManager starts, I also "fork" a thread that (simplified) does : while 1: MyManager.Refresh() sleep(MyManager.delay) Where MyManager.Refresh is a loop that calls refresh on every channel. This would work in a wonderful land...but not in real life. I've been searching for hours now... My problem is : It works for some time (sometime 10sec, sometimes 2 hours, sometime 10 min...), and then, I got a lot of : 2001-08-07T17:36:04 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\000\000\000\000\000\000WG' Traceback (innermost last): File /isp/zope/newfun/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py, line 508, in setstate AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load' (a lot of = one per ZExternalChannel instance) and a last : Exception in thread Thread-4: Traceback (innermost last): File "/usr/local/lib/python1.5/threading.py", line 376, in __bootstrap self.run() File "/isp/zope/newfun/lib/python/Products/ZExternalNews/ZExternalNews.py", line 454, in run self._manager.Refresh() File "/isp/zope/newfun/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py", line 508, in setstate p, serial = self._storage.load(oid, self._version) AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load' After hours of thinking, I think this is because ZODB ask my objects to go to sleep (is this DEACTIVATING ?). The last modification I made was to implement __setstate__ so that _v_* attributes are declared there : I thought it would be ok after that. It is not :( Please help me ! It is quite a frustrating experience ! Do not hesitate to Is there a document I should read before understanding ? Zope 2.3.3: PropertySheets mess

Why can PropertySheets not be copied/pasted? They can be exported but only imported when they are empty. Why? Seems, someone stopped in the middle of the PropertySheets support implementation.... Dieter
