Hello, I try to install Core Session Tracking (CoreSessionTracking0-8.tar.gz) on Zope 2.4.0. Richard, Basically, the easiest way to do what you're talking about is make a superclass of the two - maybe called "Container." The reason that you cannot access methods in the Product folder is they are not acquired. Acquisition does not work through the "ZClass" product area, but through the instances' parents, because that is what is actually being accessed. (It is not a security issue). Multiple Selection with "Checkboxes":

What i use is: 1. UpdateForm (DTML-Method) 2. List_available_items (ZSQL-Method) "select ap_id,ap_docname from AliasPages where proj_id=<dtml-sqlvar proj_id type=int>" 3. List_selected_items (ZSQL-Method) "select ap_selection from Projects where proj_id=<dtml-sqlvar proj_id type=int>" Problem: I want that the Checkboxes are "CHECKED" if "available_items" == "selected_items" I am not sure if my dtml is wrong or the sql-method: ! ZClass Product : Make Product objects available to several Z Classes

Hi, If I have a Product called 'BEER', and in this Product are 2 ZClasses called 'CAN' and 'BOTTLE'. I want to put DTML Methods in the root of BEER, that can be called on by CAN and BOTTLE. Neither Class will find the methods when I try this, I have to have a identical copy within each ZClass for it to work. What do I need to do to make the methods visible, have I missed something with permissions? Thanks Richard

Odd permission problem

We have a problem with permissions that results in objects having __roles__ of ('Manager',) not matter how many ways we try to convince them that they should have ('Manager', 'Anonymous'). Until we re-start zope, that is. Then the objects all have ('Manager', 'Anonymos') just like they should. Any ideas? Ponters? Hints? Bug with sequence-query and dtml-in?

Judging from the source in DocumentTemplate.DT_In.py and DocumentTemplate.DT_InSV.py, it APPEARS that the handling of 'sequence-query' is buggy. It looks like in InClass's constructor, it will define the regular expression 'start_name_re' only if the 'start' attribute was specified AND the value for 'start' is non-numeric. Makes sense since it will remove that variable from the query string if it exists. However, the sequence_variables class will raise an error if 'start_name_re' is not defined when trying to get the value of 'sequence-query'. Shouldn't I be able to get the value of 'sequence-query' if I do something like: <dtml-in some_list start=5> ... Perhaps this is the intended behavior? Does it not make sense to be wanting to look at 'sequence-query' if I'm specifying a constant 'start' value? Both 2.1.x and 2.3.x versions handle 'sequence-query' this way. Thanks, Erik Stephens

ZCatalog.Lazy.Lazy.__getslice__ broken

Here's the Collector report I just filed: Using a slice operation like [30:] on a ZCatalog search result causes a MemoryError because the __getslice__ implementation uses: for i in range(i1,i2): The __getslice__ spec says that a missing second argument will be replaced by sys.maxint! I think that the fix is to simply replace range with xrange.

acquisition question

Is there any reason why, if my parent can acquire something a few levels up, I might not be able to? Here's the story: I'm trying to acquire various objects in a root directory; let's call 2 of them them Banana and Kiwi. I'm trying to acquire them from several folders deep. I can't aquire one of them at all, although it appears to be identical in most important aspects to the other. For example, fruit = aq_get(context, 'Pineapple', default, 1) will return the Yellow Spikey Fruit; but fruit = aq_get(context, 'Kiwi', default, 1) will return None. However, if I do fruit = aq_get(context.aq_parent, 'Kiwi', default, 1) I get my Hairy Egg-sized Fruit as expected. What kind of thing should I be looking for in order to identify what's going on here? I can't debug it because the Acquision code is in C, and I'm a C dunce. Cheers for any ideas, seb

manage_after* with Copy/Cut/Paste

Dear All, I have been looking at the CopySupport.py file to try and work out why when I move an instance of a product I have created in the ZMI, the ZCatalog is not updated (the class subclasses CatalogAware). From what I can see when you do a paste after copy the manage_afterClone hook is called, but when a paste after cut is done, no hook is called. This means there is no hook for CatalogAware (or anything else) to hook into.
