I'm sorry to bring forward the topic of grammar, which is usually very bad netiquette, and I hope nobody will feel offended, but... I cringe everytime I see "it's" used instead of "its" in the checkins or the wikis, which happens very often. Some folks are even using the incorrect form practically systematically :-) So could you be a bit more careful, especially all you native-English guys? REQUEST.args

Hi, I'm using some of Casey Duncans code that I got off of zopelabs.com in a product that I created. The code allows you to call any object generically. The code is listed below this message. The problem I have is if my object is called from a DTML Method like <dtml-var object> the "args" attribute of the REQUEST object disappears and I get an attribute error. I can call it like this <dtmi-var "object(this(), REQUEST)"> and it will work. Anyway, somewhere the REQUEST object is changing. Any ideas? Creating a fully stand-alone Zope Page Templates

I am trying to make a stand-alone Page Templates packages that doesn't have any Zope dependencies. I was able to short circuit security and acquisition. I re-implemented MultiMapping in plain Python and made the Base class just an empty class. This is passing most of the regression tests, but there is one big issue left. When a page template invokes something that is a function, it prints the equivalent of 'repr(function)' instead of 'function()'. What magic that goes on within Zope am I missing in my wrapper? Are you mainly concerned about the http headers in the response, or the response body? If it is just the headers, Squid's log_mime_hdrs feature will log all HTTP headers from both the request and response for you for each request. If nothing else, perhaps it's a start... Yo, searching the zope site and googling yielded too many data and no info, so I might as well ask it here. We are very interested in finding out the exact HTTP Responses that the zope server pushes towards the client. So is there a low level hook for logging the http responses ? We want the exact response, complete with all header info etc. Why not just sniff, you might ask? Well, we are developing a web application for mobile microbrowsers, and most these clients have no hooks for attaching a sniffer client side. Object called from DTML

Okay, I have developed a product. When an instance of the product is called from DTML like, <dtml-var object>, REQUEST is not available. If I call a python script or a DTML Method from DTML REQUEST is available. The __call__ method is defined like this: def __call__(self, client=None, REQUEST={}, RESPONSE=None, **kw): if REQUEST == {}: print "No REQUEST defined" else: print "REQUEST defined" I get "No REQUEST defined" when I call this <dtml-var object> if I call this directly it works. What am I doing wrong? How do I make my product work when called from DTML? Thanks, -Brian

The default stack size for a pthread on AIX (at least in my configuration) is 96kB. On Solaris it's 1M. As soon as I explicitly set the initial stack size to 1M the problem went away and it appears as if Zope is up and running. Unfortunately I really had to change "thread_pthread.h" in Python which obviously is not a nice thing to do as I now have a need for my own private version of Python. changing the behavior of manage_menu tree

I'm currently trying to change the way the tree sorts by meta_type which contain numbers(1.2, 1.3...). Are there any monkey patches that can give me control over sort or any tips on grabbing namespaces within the manage_menu.dtml Thanks, Willie Martin
