ZODB3 3.1.1 final

We've made the final release of ZODB 3.1.1 available, including ZEO 2.0.2. This release corresponds to the version of ZODB in Zope 2.6.1 which was also recently released. There's not much different from ZODB 3.1.1beta2, except for an updated tool. ZODB is the Zope Object Database, a system for providing transparent persistence for Python objects in a transactional framework. aq_inContextOf status?

In the dev guide I read this: "Note: as of this writing the aq_inContextOf examples don't work. ... there is a collector entry to change it so that you would get the answer you expect in the above." A search at collector.zope.org for aq_inContextOf returns nothing. I'm not sure if it's working properly or not, because I'm not sure what to expect. Testing with Zope 2.5.1, here's an external method which I expected to return (1, 0) but it returns (1, 1): def tmp_aq_test(self): a = self.paul_stuff.aq_inner b = a.blech.aq_inner c = self.portals.aq_inner return (b.aq_inContextOf(a), c.aq_inContextOf(a, 1)) and my folder structure is like: / - portals ( CMF site)/ - paul_stuff (folder) / - blech (folder) / - tmp_aq_test (Ext. Method) I've also tried having the ext. method return c.aq_chain, which suprisingly gives all kinds of stuff that's not on c's containment path. I thought aq_inner was supposed to only give the containers??? Weird batches produced by dtml-in

Hello, I'm trying to implement a Google-like pagination using the dtml-in "batching system", and I'm getting some very strange results. Either I'm overlooking something obvious or there is a problem with dtml-in. See attached source code of simplified example that produces the strange results. The first time I access the page the results are as follows: 0-9 10-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70-79 If I click '10-19' it'll take me to batch_start=10, which gives the following strange results: 0-8 10-19 19-28 29-38 39-48 49-58 59-68 69-78 79-79 I have no idea why the first batch is now 0-8 and the next batch is now 19-28. Shouldn't they be 0-9 and 20-29 like above? Zope Server Control

Zope-Dev'ers, Just for fun, I made a mockup (using QT Designer) of a Zope server control and monitoring GUI. It's purely nonfunctional--just an idea. Check it out here: http://hathaway.freezope.org/Images/controller_snapshot.png It's not fancy, but it's complete: you can watch and control multiple servers from a single place. The flashing yellow LED-like indicators would give you a great deal of confidence that information is flowing. It sure would be appealing. My organization is full of non-techie types and HTML guru wanna-bees who need to supply content to my Zope CMF server. I'm looking for any kind of tools designed for the creation and management of structured, HTML or textual content. I'm currently looking at Silva, but what else is out there? Thanks in advance. if-then-else expression in Python

Currently, there is a heated debate in c.l.p about PEP 308, an "if-then-else" expression for Python. Some vote should decide its fate. I think, we want an "if-then-else" expression for Zope, as it would make decisions in TALES expressions much clearer and more robust than with the "... and ... or" hack or the "test" function which evaluates all arguments before testing (which confuses newbies). ZSQL/ZODB corruption after upgrade

I'm working on upgrading our Zope 2.3.2/CMF 1.1beta/LoginManager based site to Zope 2.4.4/CMF1.2/exUserFolder (eventually Zope 2.6.1/CMF1.3, but I've been advised to do it version by version). Right now almost everything works on 2.4.4. All of the bits of the LoginManager user folder have be deleted, including ZPatterns, our ZClass based user object, etc. I've added exUserFolder, which seems to work correctly (all of the actual user data remains in a PostgreSQL database). But there's one odd problem... If I open a ZSQL method (any ZSQL method, new or old, inside the area that used to be controlled by LoginManager or not) it seems OK. Using the method works. But if I click on the Advanced tab in the ZMI, I get the following: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource.
