Problem with editing dtml in textarea

For some reason if I do the following: <textarea name="col1" rows="30" cols="120" ><dtml-var expr="_.getitem('1_col',0)" html_quote></textarea> I can edit the html but all dtml is interpreted. I am trying to build a dtml page with which I can edit other pages: 1. Any recommendations on how to do this? 2. How do then overwrite the previous page with the edited code? Thanks, Pieter

Hi all I would like to create a product knowing the name of these product. How to do it? I arrive to product but I don't know how to create it and set to de container With these code self['manage_addProduct']['product'].manage_addMyProductManageAdd(id, content) In the information retrieved by self.all_meta_types()['product']['action'] I can retrive the 'manage_addProduct' string, 'product' string but I don't retrieve manage_addMyProductManageAdd but I retrieve manage_addMyProductManageAddForm (this is the form of the constructor) Any idea? Thanks

asyncore -> twisted

The Zope2 sprint has been focusing on HTTPServer, and one of the interesting ideas that came up was to replace asyncore with twisted. Thank you for your response! The commit lock is held only during the last phase of a request (the commit). It is unlikely that it is being held. It definitely was not held in my case. The parent pid and gdb issues are not normal for Python threads. It looks wrong that a SIGSEGV does not terminate the complete process. Such a behaviour interferes with what "zdaemon" is supposed to do (restart Zope in case of a problem). Python threads indeed block signal 11 (SIGSEGV). -- Dieter

Parameter referencing bug in Python Scripts?

Hmmm, There seems to be a bug in the way parameters are referenced in python scripts. I have a simple script that has a list as a default parameter. The script then appends something to this list and returns the list. Each time I call the script the list gets to be one element longer. Here is an example script: ## Script (Python) "pyFix" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace= ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters=a=['a'] ##title= ## a.append('b') return a The output from the script is as follows: 1st call: ['a','b'] 2nd call: ['a','b','b'] 3rd call: ['a','b','b','b'] 4th call: ['a','b','b','b','b'] etc. It seems that I'm getting a reference to the default parameter which I then modify for future calls. Currently I'm getting around this by having list parameters default to none and then setting the defaults within the script. I have some security concerns since I can change the default parameters for other users on the server. Or so it seems. Suggestions? Brian Brinegar Engineering Computer Network Purdue University

Bug in ZTUtil.Batch solved

Hi Zopers It seems that there is a bug in ZTUtil.Batch: when the batch should be the length of the batch and there are exactly as many orphans as there would fit on one page the length of the batch becomes size instead of size+orphans. Here are the numbers: no of batches start end orphan length sequence_length 1 1 12 3 12 12 1 1 10 3 10 13 <<< WRONG * 2 1 10 3 10 14 * end and length should be 13 in this case, 3 items are omitted length=12 length=13 length=14 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 5 5 6 6 6 7 7 7 8 8 8 9 9 9 10 10 10 11 11 | second batch 12 12 | 13 | 14 | So, there is a jump on the edge where there should be one batch of the length sequence_length == length+orphans. At that point 3 (in the above case) items disappear. [Problem] unordered entries in "Z2.log"

Apparently, entries in Zope's "Z2.log" are not chronologically (by causuality) ordered. In my concrete case, a form was POSTed that resulted in a redirected "GET" request. The entries in "Z2.log", however, were in the order: GET ... 200 POST ... 302 This can be confusing (altough, I do not know whether it can be easily avoided). -- Dieter
