TCPWatch or other such tool

Has anyone gotten TCPWatch to work recently? Using Python2.1/2.2/2.3 I get: Unhandled exception in thread started by <function window_loop at 0x402877d4> Traceback (most recent call last): File "/zope/opt/bin/tcpwatch.py", line 656, in window_loop app.mainloop() File "/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-tk/Tkinter.py", line 965, in mainloop self.tk.mainloop(n) RuntimeError: Calling Tcl from different appartment Are there any other good, free TCPWatch-like tools that allow you to snoop on HTTP requests. Serving big files thru zope?

Hello, I need to serve big files from zope - PDF, movies, large PS-files, Students lab-results, etc. We recently moved from LocalFS to Dirstorage to manage ZEO-ability in a clustered enviromnet). Quite a while ago, I remember having read somewhere on the lists that there is a pacth/fix for Zope/ZServer that optimises the way zope serves large files. Is the current state of ZServer such that it is suboptimal for serving large files? if so, a) what is the problem with the current implementation? b) is there a fix available? if not b) then I am willing to start looking into it. I need this for my unis student web-site. Well, the real bit of magic there is the "try.. except KeyError: pass" stanza. Believe me, I'm tempted to stick that in, but this is the kind of voodoo that got me in to a lot of trouble in the older version of this code (there was reams upon reams of voodoo in the old code), so I'd really rather just figure out why the code is failing in the first place. I'd just rather not mask the problem until I understand the cause. That may never happen, of course, but a man can dream. - C

Zope 2.7 breaks auto refresh

Hi again, I've this traceback using Zope 2.7.0 final: Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 163, in publish_module_standard * Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 127, in publish * Module Zope.App.startup, line 203, in zpublisher_exception_hook * Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 104, in publish * Module Zope.App.startup, line 221, in commit * Module ZODB.Transaction, line 233, in commit * Module ZODB.Transaction, line 348, in _commit_objects * Module ZODB.Connection, line 435, in commit __traceback_info__: (('Products.Transience.TransientObject', 'TransientObject'), '\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x008', '') The error is caused during the "auto refresh" hook. If auto refresh is disabled, all works fine. I've seen that there is a bug in the collector about this issue: http://zope.org/Collectors/Zope/1010 I've tryied to understand the problem. It seems that now Trasicience uses a different ZODB connection (using DBTab), and I think this is the cause of the problem. In Zope/App/startup.py, there is the following lines: # Initialize the app object application = app() OFS.Application.initialize(application) if Globals.DevelopmentMode: # Set up auto-refresh. from App.RefreshFuncs import setupAutoRefresh setupAutoRefresh(application._p_jar) application._p_jar.close() This handles the autoRefresh machinery to the main Connection, but I've not found anywhere the same has been done with temporary Connection. But in the ZODB/Connection.py there is a global_code_timestamp used to compare all Connections _code_timestamp attribute. Then, when the Connection tries to commit, as the _code_timestamp of Trasicience connection hasn't been updated, the problem appears. Almost is what I think. Broken Unittest

Hi, I address you directly because I haven't received feedback on this from the zope-dev mailinglist and you have been the last ones touching code in Products/DateIndex. The Sandbox was compiled by: ./configure make make instance The test was run by python2.3 test.py This test is the only one that breaks and keeps me from checkin in several changes for quite a while already.
