Hi I installed zope2.7.0 on SUSE Linux as a non root user(vandana) and psycopg1.11.... All steps of installation were successful, accept for the 'make install-zope' step. But when i try to use psycopg to connect to the database on the local machine Zope asks me for a username and password. Where even if i give the username and password with which i installed zope(i.e vandana) , it does not accpet it. The same thing happens with 'root' username and password. Security declarations vanish over time?!

Hi there, I have a little help class: class NamesProxy: __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__=1 def __init__(self,names): self.names=names def __getitem__(self,item): return self.names[item] def __len__(self): return len(self.names) ...which lets me do batches over .objectValues() of BTreeFolders without ZOpe's security whining. Any, so that I can do: <tal:x define="Batch nocall:modules/ZTUtils/Batch; NamesProxy nocall:modules/Products/MyProduct/NamesProxy;"> ...I have the following in MyProduct's __init__.py: from AccessControl import ModuleSecurityInfo ModuleSecurityInfo('Products').declarePublic('MyProduct') security = ModuleSecurityInfo() # make NamesProxy usable from PageTemplates from namesproxy import NamesProxy security.declarePublic('NamesProxy') security.apply(globals()) ...all well and good, yes? Weirder still, this can be fixed by restarting Zope... until the next time it starts doing it :-( Any ideas? Stop Testing from changing INSTANCE_HOME (proposed solution)

built-in 'dict' and 'list' in PythonScripts

The built-ins 'dict' and 'list' are not what they supposed to be in a Python environment: print isinstance('foo', dict) return printed will raise a TypeError because 'dict' represents an instance of ZopeGuards.GuardedDictType. This behaviour is confusing if you are not aware of it. Hi Can any one tell me whether zope 2.6.2 version works with which versons of python. Does it work with python 2.3. Product Access to Files

Greetings. I'm developing a Python-based product that needs to serve up a variety of XML files out of the product's directory. That is, certain URLs handled by instances of a product-defined type need to return an XML file that's on disk along with the product's DTML views and the like. Let's say that the URL http://localhost/foo/bar resolves to an object my product class defines. Then I'd like http://localhst/foo/bar/static/a to serve a file named 'a' in a directory named 'xml_files' in my product's directory. Similarly, http://localhst/foo/bar/static/b/c should serve a file named 'c' within a directory named 'b' within 'xml_files' in my product's directory. I'd rather not hard-code every single file in the Python module, since there will be many, and they'll be changing a lot during development. I've been messing around with DTMLFile and ClassicHTMLFile and the like, haven't been able to figure out how to get it to work for arbitrary paths. They also require all my file names end in '.dtml', which is quite a pain. Any suggestions? Using ObjectManager class

<file min_all.py> .... class min_all(SimpleItem.SimpleItem,ObjectManager): ... manage_options=(ObjectManager.manage_options + ({'label':'Edit Minimal', 'action':'manage_editMin_allForm'}, )) ...... def addFoo(self,id,dn): "add Foo object to min_all object" O=Foo(id,dn) self._setObject(id, O) self._p_changed=1 def delFoo(self,id): "del Foo object from min_all object" O=Foo(id,dn) self._delObject(id) self._p_changed=1 Function delFoo and addFoo working normally. For example, I can't add second Foo object with existing id, and I can't del Foo object with not existing id. But I can't see objects on ObjectManager.manage_options tab! I see only message: "There are currently no items in min_all1". I think, that problem is in _getOb function of ObjectManager class.... How can I change this function? And where can I read information about using ObjectManager class? Regards, Serg.
