cgipython is a one-file Python interpreter. It would be great to use it for the Zope distribution (but don't know if it works). http://starship.skyport.net/~lemburg/mxCGIPython.html

Try running a find from the same folder as the Catalog looking for objects with that id. Or you could try:  <a href="//manage_main">  This will print a link to the objects. It's doubtful that there could be two objects with the same uid, which from ZCatalog's perspective is the objects URL. Useful building tools (Windows)

To add to the stuff on kerr's mingw32 page you may wish to check out: Installer.exe python-tarlib.py at ftp://ftp.python.org/pub/python/contrib/System These tools remove the need for cywin binaries in your build system. Hope this helps those under Windows, Anthony Pfrunder

Hmm, some more changes to the interface I guess, in my version things seem a bit smoother. The Views created can be assigned to all methods of the ZClass, manage_access, and propertysheets in the form of 'propertysheets/Propertysheet_Name/manage'. No need to create another method. ZClasses instances become detached from class

Zopeists, I created a new ZClass with no index_html for viewing. The n I made an instance of it. Then I went back into the ZClass and created an index_html. Now, to my understanding, and the way it used to work, is that the index_html will be added for all the instances. However there is no index_html in the instance. Somewhere the instance go separated from it's class. Anyone else have that same issue? -- Jason Spisak webmaster(a)mtear.com

The problem is because your using manage_catalogObject, which needs a REQUEST object to return to manage_main when it's done. I would suggest:  manage_catalogObject wants at least one argument which MUST be a REQUEST object for it to work without failing (since the urls to index defaults to None, calling manage_catalogObject with only one argument will not catalog anything). In the case of your code, it was interpreting the URL you passed as the REQUEST object, which is why it broke. also, the second argument is in brackets. this is because it must be a sequence. manage_changeProperties not protected by security

Someone reported the bug that 'manage_changeProperties' was not protected by the security mechanisms. This is now fixed. I couldn't find the report on the list or in the Collector, so I'm just generally announcing that it now works. Michel
