Acquisition problems with XMLDocument?

Hi there, I'm having some trouble getting acquisition to work with XMLDocuments. When calling some part of an XML doc by URL acquisition works, but when calling it in Python it doesn't (or I don't get it). I get name errors. Example: XMLDocument - doc: <?xml version="1.0"?> <text>This is text</text> DTML method - renderText: <p>  </p> DTML method - viewText:    When I access renderText as follows, it works: .../doc/0/renderText However, when I use viewText instead, it gives a NameError (text_content unknown). So acquisition is in fact doing something (as renderText is indeed called), but then it seems to forget the namespace context? Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Regards, Martijn

Zope and MS Sql Server? - MS has a free SQL 7 server implementation now

I thought I'd seen somewhere that the Oracle or Informix DA could be used to talk to an MS SQL server. Is that true? If anyone is using the MS SQL server, could you tell me how you're talking to it? Also, in case you don't know, you can get a free copy of "mini-sql" from Microsoft at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/msde This is a scaled-down SQL 7 server, limited to 5 connections and 2 gig of data per database. However you can have multiple databases.. I was thinking of using this with ZODB3 as a non-versioning DB plug-in for those items that don't need to be "versioned". I suspect you're using the old public CVS module. With Zope 2 we've moved the active CVS repository to a new organization, and a new name - you will need to do a new checkout using Zope2 instead of Zope. The old modules will remain with no further changes, for backward reference. (I announced this to zope-checkins, digicool-cvs, zope-announce, and zope-dev on thursday, but the subject line i used is a little vague, so it may have snuck by...) CVS & binary files

I've been using CVS to keep up with development of Zope2. I downloaded the latest beta1 installer and installed it. I notice a large number of differences between text files involving CRLF vs LF line terminators. Also I see many of the binary gifs & jpgs are different. This is clearly a problem related to the CVS treatment of text & binary files. I'm not sure whether this is my win32 client 1.10.5 or a CVS management problem. Apparently there are special rules for binary files. Can anyone advise/help? -- Robin Becker

Internationalization?

Hi! I've been wondering if anyone is working on internationalizing ZOPE? Andreas -- Win95: n., A huge annoying boot virus that causes random spontaneous system crashes, usually just before saving a massive project. Easily cured by UNIX. See also MS-DOS, IBM-DOS, DR-DOS, Win 3.x, Win98.

Zope 2.0.0b1 bug?

Hi! I'm trying to copy a DTML method in the Root Folder. (This happens also after restarting Zope and restarting the Netscape client too.) 1.) I select the method and press [Copy] 2.) [Paste] is shown. 3.) I press [Paste], and get: No clipboard data found.
