automatic sending of the 'REQUEST' argument

Here's a question for any Document Template experts out there: What is the mechanism which determines whether REQUEST is sent to a function evaluated using dtml-var? Recently I have been skulking around the management screen templates, and I noticed that somehow it is possible to write something like: (in manage_tabs.dtml) <dtml-var "HelpSys.button(HelpSys, product=option['help'][0], topic=option['help'][1])"> Here the 'button.dtml' HTMLFile object is being called with 'HelpSys' (the Help System instance) as a client and two keyword arguments, 'product' and 'topic'. That seems pretty clear. However, in helpURL, which is a subtemplate of the button template, looks like: <dtml-var SCRIPT_NAME>/Control_Panel/Products/<dtml-var product>/Help/<dtml-var topic> SCRIPT_NAME is part of the REQUEST namespace, as far as I can tell... but how is the REQUEST being passed to helpURL? I added some debugging output to App/special_dtml.py to visualize HTMLFile as it's being called, and sure enough it is getting passed a REQUEST. What's going on here? When I do stuff similar to the above in an expr, I always seem to have to explicitly pass along the namespace, a la: <dtml-var "myMethod(REQUEST=_)"> Enlightenment Please! --Brian

Hi,all What I want to do is restrict the select condiction In my sql syntax: These is one field in My database named: "publish_time" which format is: "2000-02-17" And in my query template, I want to query the result which fits the " One week(0) , One month(1), All(2)" select ... from ProductDb where ProductDb.sort = <dtml-sqlvar sort type=int> and ProductDb.gqlb = <dtml-sqlvar gqlb type=int> and ProductDb.publish_time - ZopeTime() < cal : I want to do [ Cal can be 7(One week),30(One month),360(All)..] How to do that? Explore the Zope objects hierarchy

Hi I have a problem. I would to generate a Python module that can explore the Zope objects hierarchy. I have created a ZClass like a DTMLDocument with some differences and so I need to replace a very large number of DTMLDocuments with instances of my ZClass, manteining the contents of the documents (body and properties). I want to do that by an automatic procedure using Python. I think is important to read and update the content of the file data.fs, but I don't know how I can do it. What is the format of the file ? Is there any python module for this problem ? Where can I find it ? Thanks Luca

dtml-tree

About a month ago, Anthony Baxter posted a patch to TreeTag.py. Was there any resolution? I didn't find any change in the CVS. I'm trying to figure out what is going on in the trees. It seems that there are namespace context problems. The tree seems to be evaluated in a global context rather than the context from which the dtml tag is invoked That isn't a problem when the code generates a constant display which refers only to the global tree, but it isn't working for my application. I can always do a custom rewrite but that defeats the purpose of common modules. Does anyone have any insight? -- Richard Wackerbarth rkw(a)Dataplex.NET

Multiple Rename Patch

There was a recent tread that discussed how folks were _managing_ their zope websites. Surprisingly, many of us actually use the web interface even though ftp and webdav are available. To this end, I have a patch that allows multiple rename of Zope items in the web management interface; instead of just the first item. This patch was originally submitted to the collector last December, but this new version works against Zope 2.1.3 and 2.1.4. I haven't tested it against CVS. Great Zope job opporunity!

Sorry to barge in like this, but my boss is seeking python/zope developers and the head hunters out there don't have a lot of contacts in the zope community. If you are interested in working on zope, working regularly with the fine folks at Digital creations, and/or Z-commerce, have I got a job for you! My company (ZapMedia.com) is looking for a zope developer for our music and video portal site. On my recommendation they checked out Zope and Digital Creations, and they liked it. Zope versions and Emacs

Zopists, I have any problem with Zope versions when I edit my DTML code in Emacs and update it through FTP access. I see no indication (red diamond) of such a way changed DTML method (or other object) and the version tells me, that there is no change in this version. But, on the other hand, I can see this change in the UNDO Zope tab. Does anyone know more about this?
