ZClasses adding misterious whitespaces to MethodManager

Hi again. Also a change to "_['sequence-index'][:-1]" in the ZClass/dtml didn't help. In the View Tab of the ZClasses everything is displayed fine, and when i call 'prepareData.py/manage_workspace' manually everything works. I have the suspicion that the dtmls where copied into the ZODB, but I don't know anything about that. dtml-sqltest has not been implemented completely

Hi all. As I posted on the zope(a)zope.org list, I found that the sqltest tag wasn't implemented as I expected from the DTML documentation. Following things were different: - support for expr="" was supposed to be there - the 'nb' type was expected to work I fixed both things and used sqlvar.py as a pattern to do so. I also updated some Exception handling and rewrote the thing in the style of sqlvar.py as it seems to be more up2date (sqlvar.py is from 2000/09/07, sqltest.py is from 2000/05/30). This was in Zope 2.3.3, but wasn't fixed until Zope 2.4.0b3 yet. I have a patch in this mail, and in the collector. If somebody at DC would be so kind to review this thing ASAP, because it really breaks me down to have such a big lack as I began using the sqltest currently. patch zope-2.4.0 and guarded_getattr (and PageTemplates): is this a bug?

Hello. I'm currently testing the following components together: - python 2.1.0 - zope 2.4.0 (CVS version) - PageTemplates and TAL 1.3.2 (CVS version) - CMF 1.1 (CVS version) I'm having trouble using the ZPT skins included with CMFDecor and my own customs skins. DTML + TALES Project started

The incorporation of TALES expressions into DTML is no longer a Proposal. It is now a Project, located at: http://dev.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Projects/DTMLplusTALES There is a draft of the documentation changes for the Zope Book in the Wiki, which should give a pretty good idea of the Project's effects. RAM Cache Manager "next_cleanup" not working?

Hi, I implemented a Ram Cache Manager. I cached some methods and they really get cached, but the cleanup_interval is not working, i.e, if I define in my Ram Cache Manager a cleanup interval of 5 seconds I will not see my method's cache being updated after that small amount of time. Only using the invalidate button of my method's cache tab I'm able to cleanup and soo refresh the method's cache. I've been looking into the code and there is something weird with StandardCacheManagers.RAMCacheManager because the ZCache_set which defines the next_cleanup time, is never called unless at __init__ time. This cache properties are well embeded into OFS.DTMLMethod and OFS.DTMLDocument and so my approach to the code will take some more time, but a simple test with 232 and 233 dont work. My simple test is: -create a RAMCacheManager, say "mycache" -create a dtml method "test1" with the code <dtml-var ZopeTime> -create a dtml document "test2" with the code <dtml-var ZopeTime> -associate test1 and test2 with "mycache" -define a cleanup interval of 5 seconds and a threshold entries of 1 and then call "test1" and "test2" several times until more than 5 seconds had passed. Isnt suppose to after 5 seconds I get a different value from my method or document, in this case, a diferent zopetime? Is there anyone really using RAM Cache Manager with success, i.e, can you prove to me the cleanup_interval works? Or else there must be something really big I'm missing here. Cachable Zclass instance methods?

There doesn't seem to be any way to cache member functions (methods) of a zclass instance. I have a use case where the method is really a class method and returns the same result for all instances of the class. I'd like to cache it's output. The only way I could do this was to move the method out of the zclass and into a higher folder. Any idea how to add this functionality (cached class method)? The difference between product Properties and Attributes?

Hi, I have been looking through the Zope Developers Guide (PollProduct Example) and also How-To's to help with creating a Product. I am a bit confused whether there is any difference between properties in Zope and attributes you create in a Product. I have seen 2 different ways to access attributes created in a product: The first is by using _properties and specifying your attribute name/type so you can view/edit them on the properties page. The other is to create a dtml page specifically to view/edit the attributes you have by calling methods from your product to retrieve/save them. Do these 2 ways store/retrieve the attributes in Zope in different ways? Is one approach better than the other? Also... I am creating an object based on the Folder object. I only want to allow certain objects to be created inside this folder'ish object. Can the objects available in the drop-down be restricted like you can when creating ZClasses inside Zope?
